Interesting, that 2-14 record looks the same to me.

People come up with every excuse under the sun - it's all Cassel's fault, it's the coaching, the sun was in our eyes.

Everything but the truth:

This roster sucks.

You don't get to 2-14 by accident, and you surely don't do so because of one player or coach.

This is the same team that went 7-9 last year with basically the same players and an average QB. The talent is even better this year than last year.

This team runs a predictable offense behind a doofus of a head coach who can't motivate his players worth a shit leading to soft passive players and with backup talent at the most important position in the game.

Again... you put a good head coach and a good QB for a full season on last year's team, and that's a legit playoff team. Not Super Bowl yet. But a good solid lower-tier playoff team.

2012: We don't get to play Caleb Hanie every week.

So in 4 years, we have a 4 win season and a likely 2 win season, with a 10 win season against one of the weakest schedules in the history of the NFL (something like .420, IIRC) and a 7 win season in which 5 of those wins came against backup or third string QB's.

You're severely overestimating the level of "talent" on this roster.

I'm not overestimating the talent. You're underestimating how important the QB and head coach and offensive coordinator are to making the talent significantly better.

This has a lot to do with our problem guys.

Look what Weis did wit Cassel, sure it was a weak schedule, but we know know Cassel can screw up just by walking onto the field.

But let's not lose site on getting our GM first, a good GM will allow the rest to fall into place, so to speak. ( Sure we thought this with Pioli )

I believe that coaching makes a HUGE difference in the NFL.

This roster is not the greatest but there is some exceptional talent on it. Sure there are holes to fill particularily at QB, DB, WR, LB and so forth. Plus, I believe this team lacks depth as usual.

I don't think its just about how talented your roster is, its about getting your team to execute on all cylinders. I think one of the reasons this team can't execute is because they lack discipline. You have to attribute severe lack of discipline from a football team to sh*tty coaching.

And it's funny because this is a trend that has been ongoing for years with this ****ing team. And it makes me sick because its so ongoing that they fail to correct it. Look at who our coaches have been over the last 7-8 years, Herm Edwards, Todd Haley, and Romeo Crennel. Nothing but a bunch of hot trashes.

Whats the coincedence? They are all shitty coaches and Shitty coaching= lack of discipline=lack of execution everywhere. I think that explains the 2-14 records behind a roster with some exceptional talent on it. Inability to hire good coaches has hurt this team and it shows up in the record books.

When Haley was HC, this ENTIRE ROSTER played better football - WITHOUT Berry, Charles, and Moeaki.

This team was more competitive with Palko at QB, and he was ****ing terrible.

tell ME 'coaching doesn't make that much of a difference' - you ain't been watching the same team, jack.

Haley was lucky to have Romeo as his defensive coordinator.

The defense was the main factor in helping the Chiefs achieve a 7-9 record.

For some reason the difference between Romeo as a DC compared to HC is night and and day. And for whatever reason, don't know why?

I refuse to believe Haley was a good coach. The year he went 10-6 he had two really good coordinators helping him out.

With a merely competant GM, Haley would have had the Chiefs in serious contention for the Super Bowl right now.

The year he went 10-6 was a masterful job of coaching by ALL involved...as well as a weak interconference schedule and a shit division...

But the fact remains, every single player on this roster played better football with Haley as HC - they were more disciplined, better prepared, in better conditioning...

You can refuse to believe Haley was a good coach...but that sounds like a blind man refusing to believe that the sun is yellow.

Yep, what this team needs is more fake punts from its own 20. More botched two minute drives. More wasted timeouts because the right players aren't on the field. More draws on third and eight. And by all means, more childish tantrums by a grown man being shown on TV.

RAC was the DC for both losses; hard to pin the freefall on Haley...we know whose mess this really is.

When Matt Cassel is your QB...you totally try to manufacture points by any means neccessary. When Matt Cassel is your QB...you MAY AS WELL ****ing fake punt from your own 20. When Matt Cassel is your QB...you ****ing throw your hands up and let Bill Muir's geriatric ass and Jim Zorn deal with him, because you just want to throat punch him everytime you see him. When Matt Cassel is your QB...you may as well call a draw on 3rd and 8. When Matt Cassel is your QB...a childish tantrum may be the best thing you can muster (re: throat punching)

Notice how he has none of those problems in an actual professional football locker room...

Thank you - Haley was terrible. He acted like he was the greatest coach that ever lived without ever having done anything.
