Steve Bono FTW!!!!
Remembering One Of The Greatest Quarterback Runs In NFL History
by Chris Thorman on Oct 2, 2010 8:49 AM PDT in 2010 Kansas City Chiefs Season Fifteen years and one day ago (Sorry I'm late), then Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Steve Bono made one of my favorite plays of all time. Against the Arizona Cardinals, Bono hiked the ball, faked a handoff to the left side of the offensive line, and proceeded to run 76-yards for a wide open touchdown. At the time, it was the longest run by a quarterback in NFL history. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart ran 80-yards for a touchdown the next season in 1996. You can argue whether or not Bono's run was "great" but I don't think you can argue this is a great clip. Steve Bono is currently big timing it as a financial adviser in California. |

I reference this all the time...I love this play. But it seems like I am the only one who remembers it.
"What do you mean you dont recall that play?!? Steve ****ing Bono took like 5 mins to run 70 yards! There were lineman running WITH him!" Haha |

Still a hilarious play though |

Best fake hand off in the history of mankind
What is most amazing is that as slow as he ran, you still don't see a defender anywhere near him the entire time! |

I was at that game. All I could think of at the time was how FN slow he was. Great fake, but damn... My granny could have caught up to him on her little rascal

I do remember that play and I was yelling at the TV, "Run! Run! Why is he just jogging??" I was thought no one chased him to the endzone beacuse there was a flag down, but then they lined up to kick the extra point and I thought, "I'll be damned. That was the most boring touchdown run I've ever seen. I wish Bono would have thrown a pass to Valerio and he would have scored instead."

OK, I just timed it, from the 40 Yard line it was a 4.49/40 with a running start...It looked slower than it was, I guess.
