David Cook sings Mariah Carey
This guy is very good. Not a Mariah Carey fan even though she used to have one of the best voices back in the day. I think this is a good cover of what possibly is the girliest pop song of the past 20 years other than Madonna's Like a Prayer to where it's now a Rock Ballad.

It's a little different this time around. I didn't watch Daughtry's season at all. But people who don't watch AI are watching it this season because of David Cook. Daughtry can't play instruments worth a shit. Cook is a real artist. People can see that. He's gonna be a real hit because he will be able to do things in recording studios not many "recording artists" are able to do.

I'm a Cornell fan, and hate to see him ripped off for an American Idol competition. The whole thing just goes against the spirit of Cornell's music to me.

I would have just rather seen him pick a different Cornell tune than one from his most recent solo album.

I like Cornells version, no doubt. Cook knocked it out of the park though. He made it better IMO. Cornell gets the credit for creating the arrangement though. If nothing else, Cook got Cornell more attention.
