Top free agents shunned KC in the past: now not so much.
In the past 35 years with all the hot garbage we had here as QBs, we would be at the bottom of the barrel for any top quality free agents when they considered a trade or to sign with a new team. Only Joe Montana brought interest until now.
A by-product of finally having our own QBOTF and a great one at that, players and their agents see Kansas City as a great landing spot to finally get to the promised land! Another positive from the Mahomes effect! |

It helps that we handed out massive contracts last season for 2 free agents.

If Mahomes continues to be what he appears to be, this is going to happen. We are going to get free agent discounts due to players desire to play with Patrick. No more overpays necessary going forward.

What big names shunned us that the Chiefs actively pursued? The only one that comes to mind was Deion Sanders. I’m remember the Chiefs rolling out the red carpet for him before he signed with the Niners.
