The property is HUGE and the walking path along the elephants was incredible, the bird house was cool and the penguin exhibit was just about finished so that is now open. Almost every exhibit was open and had animals in them so plenty to see. They fed the lions while I was there chunks of hamburger and I got to toss a few in. I highly recommend for a 15 year old and yourself

If the weather is like it's been there's no way you would want to go to the zoo

I have your day all planned out for you Archie.
Start with breakfast: http://thecornerkc.com/ If you don't want to wait check out Baked another excellent breakfast place http://bakedinkansascity.com/ Once breakfast is complete hit up the plaza. The new Nike store is pretty cool. Also there is a store called Rally House they have nice KC Gear (Chiefs, Royals, Sporting, etc) Once you're done there check out the World War 1 Museum or the new aquarium by Crown Center (its kind of meh) For entertainment afterwards check out a Royals game or head up to North KC (10mins from downtown) and check out Chicken and Pickle http://www.chickennpickle.com/ If you don't feel like going north as others have suggested Charbar is really good and has fun outdoor games too. My favorite place for dinner in Westport is Beer Kitchen. If you for some reason find yourself out in Kansas southern JOCO has some cool stuff at 135th. I really enjoy the bar out there called BrewTop. They recently opened up a Dave and Busters too. IMO some of the best shopping in town is at The Legends in KCK.About 20 mins down I-70 friom downtown KC. |

I'm pretty sure they have there full menu as well, the brunch menu is just additional options only available on weekend mornings. Not too sure about that though, because brunch to me has always just meant late breakfast so I've only ordered off of that menu.

World War I museum is really cool. Take the elevator to the top. Bring your camera. The view is fantastic.
I'm assuming you're a Chiefs fan since you are posting here. They have a great tour of Arrowhead. Worth the money. |
