I realize it's only the preseason, but was this really the best day to start this thread? You're calling out a starting offense who only played 3 series last night and came away with 17 points. TDs drives of 80 and 99 yds and the FG drive started on their 20. Yeah, they looked like "crap" last night.

The offense is a year away, it's still way too young. There's a chance they could start 8 guys who have 2 full seasons or less experience this year (Cutler, Young/Hall, Hillis, Marshall, Royal, Clady, Kuper, and Harris), add in Scheffler who will see a ton of playing time too. The future looks good, but their inexperience will be exposed this year.

The defense still needs a lot of help. Guys like Engleberger and Webster shouldn't sniff starting spots in the NFL, and the pass rush is still non-existant from the front 4.

I'd take 8-8 this year.

I can't tell if I envy you or pity you. The blind optimism is something I've had in the past, but this year I'm afraid it's just not possible for us. You all are at least on the brink of mediocrity, so it's easier to convince yourself that you have a chance.
