2.41 worked fine for me

I have to say, the PS3 upconverts much better than my Pioneer upconverting DVD player. I was very impressed.

I've seen a couple threads about 2.41 causing lockups when playing COD4. Do you have that game and, if so, have you played it since updating? I'm still waiting to update because of those reports.

You can now link your PSN account to Playstation.com, giving you similar functionality as 360 owners have with Xbox.com

Towards the top, click the Link your IDs Today button and go from there.

I thought the 2.40 update was a bit of a letdown, but this is a great step forward.

How much are the movies on PSN? SD and HD. Are they rentals only or actual purchase to keep?

Overpriced. Just like Xbox. Don't know why they can't compete with Netflix and offer some kind of subscription rental setup. $10 per month for SD only content and $15 for all content.

Sony got scooped by XBrick and Netflix. A monthly subscription fee for content is the way to go as opposed to pay per rental. Furthermore with their ambitions toward blu-ray they should be doing what they can to muscle studios and production cos into bringing down the MSRP of a blu-ray closer to the neighborhood of a DVD. No question, if you have the tv for it blu-ray walks all over other forms of media. My wife's only input (I fence sat for a long time on PS3 v. Xbrick) was that she wanted the blu-ray. She's a value gal and if I thought all else was equal then let's go Sony.

She enjoys the Wii but the fact I'm so COD4 crazy drives her a little nuts. I'm hoping LBP and some other titles bring her around to the coolness of core games.

If you want free job research let me know and I'll lay out my long winded impressions.

That’s just as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs.
