Schefter just posted on ESPN.com chat: Weiss will spend all night begging for Clausen

Adam_Schefter:
Chiefs OC Charlie Weis is going to spend tonight trying to convince the Chiefs to draft Jimmy Clausen in the second round. #nfldraft

That was what Schefter just posted in the running chat on ESPN.com. Figured I'd pass it along.

You'll have your pick in the 2nd.

Otherwise you have to hope like hell you get a shot at Troup.
That's true, the talent pool does thin out, that's why you draft talent players at this stage, not space eaters.

And there are very few WR's or playmakers this year. The skill positions are thin.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Interesting take, Mr. milkman.

Still, a guy with titties like that is a guy whose proven priorities are in the refrigerator. Maybe you're right (and you usually are), but honestly ... I'd prefer a guy with a work ethic that's demonstrable in a somewhat smaller bra size.

I have always liked Cody so taking him at 2a would be fine by me.

I'm on board with the folks not expecting Clausen to make it another 4 picks.

'course I didn't expect him to make it this far, either. But I just don't see it.

I'm with you. If Clausen is unavailable then I'd like to see Cody be the pick. He's perfectly suited to anchor Romeo's 3-4.

Clausen/Mays/Cody/Tate

To me, there is no way we come out of this without a grade A starter.

Heh, there is no excuse for us not to walk away with one of those guys. I'd be good with Kindle as well I suppose. But I think those 4 are the cream of the crop. We pick 4th in this round, 1 of them has to be available. After today, I have faith we'll snag one.

ya know, as much as I want clausen, I'd be more than content with cody, mays or tate (or benn, really). we definately have a shot at getting a front-line starter out of at least 2a, maybe another with 2b if things fall right.

I was listening to Fox Sports radio and they were saying that McCoy is rumored to be above Clausen on Minny's board. If Minny passes on Clausen and he's the last QB of the big 4 taken, he's going to be on a mission. And that makes me want him. Bad.
