Also, I'd imagine if these were the usual August Orioles, 20 games out and going nowhere, they wouldn't have done it. If he's not seen as The Savior (as Wieters was three years ago) he may be able to slide right in there and contribute.

EDIT: If he boots the ball at 3B and doesn't hit, it's really no worse than what's been happening there all season.

In case someone comes in here who's not an O's fan (unlikely), the six Orioles Hall of Famers are being honored this year, each getting a statue at the park. Frank Robinson, Earl Weaver, and Jim Palmer are already done, and Cal Ripken and Brooks Robinson are to follow Eddie in September.

He's the third rated prospect in baseball for a reason.

He's a great prospect and hitter, no argument. But I wouldn't get excited about his performance against a career AAAA pitcher. Plus, you will have to deal with his inevitable slump after pitchers adjust to him, etc. My advice, as someone who has been down this road, is to stay even-keel through the good times and bad.

It's starting to clear up a bit where I am at. Hopefully something gets underway soon. It will be complicated to squeeze a rematch in, since this is our last series with them.
