So you think you can just beg your way into the SEC? You'd better hope so. When Texas bolts woth Oklahoma, KU is going to have to do more than beg to find a home.

I would guess actual movement in 3-5 years. It wouldn't surprise me a bit to learn that discussions are happening now.

Honestly, if Texas/Oklahoma bolt KU could be in some trouble if the football program is in the state it is now. However, I really believe that KU is attempting to prepare themselves IF they both leave. They are making these staff hires to try to make a quick changed to get the program to a somewhat respectable level....so that IF UT/OU leave, KU isn't standing there holding their dicks.

Let's be honest, making a bowl game isn't exactly what it used to be. Now, you get teams without a winning record or sitting at .500 making bowls.

It's like Jim Boeheim wanting to expand the NCAA tournament to 120 teams or whatever the ****ing number it is so that EVERYONE gets a shot. **** that.

I'll put $100.00 on Kansas, OU, and Texas being in the same conference on January 20, 2017.

No, it was a good match. MU is a medium size program in a new state, but it wasn't a contest between MU and other big 12 schools as to who gets invited to the SEC, no one else was involved.

Where will they bolt to?

I agree, but I like bowl games. It gives me something to watch, and they don't muck up the championship because the only game that "matters" in that regard is the NC game.

The tourney, awesome as it is, doesn't usually crown the best team. Instead, it crowns the hottest team. Adding more teams would only exacerbate that. 64 teams was perfect, IMO. It was enough to let in the conference champions without watering it down too much with at-large teams. I don't care enough about the sport to demand that the best team be crowned champion, so the gimmick is well worth it to me.

I'd like to see an 8 team playoff in football as long as there were still bowl games for the rest. Hell, I think preseason bowl games would be a cool way to get good early matchups like basketball does with holiday tournaments.

How many teams have made seven straight bowl games?

If making a bowl game is so easy, how lame is your program that you have only made back-to-back bowl games one time in your existence?

Texas can go anywhere they want.

OU can go to the PAC, which is where their administration clearly was hoping for this offseason, or SEC, which is where a large percentage of their fanbase wants to go.

Can Texas go to the SEC, because that would be pretty funny.

Of course they could, but why would it be funny? The SEC won't let Texas run the conference like the Big Leftover teams do.

You think Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, etc are going to let Texas come in and tell them what to do? Texas would have to play by the rules.

Omg people are STILL bringing up conference shit? Teams move conferences all the time. MU and A+M left and the big 12 only got stronger.

Let's move on please.

KU has a bad football program, maybe someday they'll establish a winning program, I don't know, be that as it may MU hasn't accomplished anything meaningful in football. I don't care about making it to seven straight bowl games, it's nice I guess. The Chiefs won the second most regular season games in the '90's. Yippie!
