I just want to hear it one more time from anyone who disagrees:

LeBron James said, without training for it, he ran a 4.6 40.

So the best athlete we've seen in the NBA...possibly ever...who literally defends 5 positions, has AMAZING agility, quickness, and instincts...

Who is 6'8" 260 lbs.
Who has a 44" vertical.

You guys are saying he can't play in the NFL. He couldn't be a Jimmy Graham. And he certainly couldn't be a Plaxico Burress.

Anquan ****ing Boldin ran a 4.75.

My Christ.

My ****ing Christ.

He wouldn't have to....he's 6 foot ****ing 8 inches tall and jumps higher than anyone I've ever seen. Had he stayed w/ football he most certainly would be in the NFL right now. He'd be a sick TE.

Dude i understand your logic with Lebron James and i agree to an extent. Let's be realistic here though, it's going to take more than a few months for an NBA player to get into NFL shape.

It's not just about adding 10 lb's of muscle dude. It takes current NFL players whole offseasons to get back into playing shape for the season.

With the NFL Draft Combine playing in the Miami Heat locker room, LeBron James was asked what he could run a 40-yard dash in.

His answer: 4.6 seconds.

"I was just messing around, though," LeBron said, via ESPN.com. "No training."

LeBron played football in high school at St. Vincent-St. Mary and was named an All-State receiver as a sophomore. If he decided he wanted to play football even now, he'd probably have 32 NFL general managers drooling over him.

Messing around or completely serious, 4.6 is pretty darn good. Especially when you remember that LeBron is a 6-foot-8, 250-pound beast.

"It's better than Manti Te'o, I'll tell you that," LeBron said, via the Sun-Sentinel.

Te'o ran a 4.82.

LeBron would most likely be a tight end in the NFL, and if his 4.6 is accurate, only two other TEs ran faster than him at this season's combine. Top running back Montee Ball from Wisconsin ran a 4.66.

So yeah, LeBron's a freak.

Jimmy Graham, the most athletic TE in the NFL (other than maybe Vernon Davis but I've never really seen Vernon make athletic catches; he's just a combine freak)...

He was 6'6 260 ran a 4.53 and had a 38.5" vertical

He couldn't cut it in basketball. Played 1 year of college football. Came on in the 2nd half of his rookie season. Had a better season his 2nd year in the NFL than TONY GONZALEZ ever had.

WE'RE SAYING JIMMY GRAHAM, WHO IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE ATHLETE LEBRON IS, CAN DO IT...BUT LEBRON COULDN'T?

At the very worst, LeBron would be the best TE in the game.

At the very worst, LeBron would be a top 5 pick in this year's draft if he quit basketball and promised he'd spend the rest of his career playing football.

Can you just explain to me how you could guard a 6'8" athletic freak with a 44" vertical in the red zone?

Just please.

Explain it to me. Is Brandon Flowers going to jam LeBron James at the line?

as for being a liar, I swear on Michael Jordan being better than Kobe Bryant that I have been under the impression for 10 years that LeBron was the #2 Mr. Ohio football behind Clarett. I didn't even know there was a such thing as a Mr. Football (I knew about Mr. Basketball) until someone told me that apparent untrue tidbit of knowledge about LeBron.

as for him fracturing a finger and then having his mom make him quit football...

WELL THAT MAKES ****ING SENSE SINCE HE WAS THE CHOSEN ONE AND EVERYONE KNEW HE'D BE THE #1 PICK IN THE NBA WHEN HE WAS 16 GOD DAMN YEARS OLD.

Yeah LeBron...go on, play football...potentially blow out a knee or suffer a freak injury so you can't go on too make $500M dollars playing basketball.

You're really intelligent buddy.

The fact he was an all-state football player as a 16 year old shows you that he can probably play football.

BUT FOR THE 105TH TIME IN THIS THREAD

THERE IS NO REASON FOR SOMEONE WITH NBA/OVERSEAS BASKETBALL POTENTIAL TO PLAY FOOTBALL. NONE.

Have you been keeping up with football lately? Or are you just ignoring the concussion/Goodell/former players/suicides/etc...?

I think you're just a ****ing idiot. That's just my educated opinion though.

At least you have GoChiefs on your side. One time he threw a pass in a PE flag football game and it was picked off for a TD. That was his claim to athletic fame on this board.
You need to do some research on the average overseas basketball contract.

Way to use one of the shortest corners in the NFL to try to make a point. Sherman from Seattle would destroy LeBron.

The fact that he was an all-state football player at 16 just shows that he was a great high school football player. There are literally thousands of Allstate football players who have never sniffed the NFL.

No opinion of yours has ever been an educated one.

Holy ****, just when I thought your arguments couldn't get more exaggerated and based solely on your delusional opinion, this post happened.

At THE VERY WORST Lebron would be the best TE in the game.

Richard Sherman would DESTROY LeBron James?

He would destroy a 6'8" 250 lb. man?

I was being nice and saying Brandon Flowers because Flowers is a physical man. I didn't say someone like Asante Samuel.

LeBron would just be unguardable. No one would have a chance. It would be unfair.

LeBron would be the biggest matchup nightmare in the history of the NFL.

If he was a free agent this year, quit basketball, and could sign with the highest bidder.

He'd get a Calvin Johnson contract. (Half because everyone knows he'd beast, and half because it would pay for itself via marketing but still...)

ANYONE THAT IS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT LEBRON JAMES COULDN'T WALK RIGHT INTO A TRAINING CAMP AND BE READY TO BEAST GAME 1 OF THE NFL SEASON AND BE A COMPLETE ****ING NIGHTMARE FOR THE OPPOSITION IS JUST DUMB.

There is no other opinion in this regard.

If you want to argue the Derrick Rose's, Monta Ellis', Kobe in his prime, Josh Smith, Jimmy Butler...then so be it (Jimmy Butler reminds me exactly of Jimmy Graham by the way)...

but there is no arguing LeBron James. None.

I will say that if Lebron James trained for the NFL, he would have all the athletic ability in the world to succeed. I will not say that he would succeed or dominate the NFL, because there have been freakish athletes fail in the NFL before. It's not a sure thing that Lebron James would dominate the NFL.

You don't think he would be? The best TEs in recent history are former basketball players...and not great ones.

There is nothing from an athletic standpoint that Antonio Gates could do that LeBron can't do better.

I am watching the NBA right now.

How can people watch a Harrison Barnes and think..."gee, I don't think he could play WR in the NFL."

So you believe the floor for LeBron in the NFL is the best TE in the game? That is the absolute worst he could do? And this is based on the fact he can jump high and is 6'8" and has stated that he ran a 4.6 40. Do you guys understand that there are numerous outstanding athletes who never do anything in the NFL? These are athletes who have trained for the sport their whole lives. But LeBron would be guaranteed to be the best TE in the NFL if he decided to play football. Do you know how outlandish that is?

I could train to play in the NFL my entire life and not play in the NFL. Wanna know why? I'm not athletic enough.

LEBRON JAMES IS THE BEST ATHLETE IN AMERICA. HE PROVES IT ON A YEAR TO YEAR BASIS. HE IS A FREAK OF NATURE.

Jimmy Graham has just shattered this argument, once again, for everyone.

If Jimmy Graham did it...LeBron could do it. Easily.

I don't know how you don't understand this. LeBron James, athletically, is something that comes around probably once in a lifetime.

It doesn't take 1/10th of the skill to play receiver in the NFL as it does to play in the NBA. That's fact.

LeBron James would just totally beast the NFL. 100%.

You arguing otherwise proves to me you don't understand, which is fine. Not everyone can be a guru like me.
