Just buy which ever characters you enjoy reading about. Don't worry at all about collectability because to be honest with you "nothing" is collectable anymore because the market is over saturated. You will read them once, bag them, then save them for ten to twenty years and then when you sell them you will get pennies on the dollar. Thats just how the collectable industry is right now. Take the hot comic right now...The Walking Dead". #1 in NM 9.8 has sold for $2500 recently. In ten years that comic will be $100 when the demand dropps off and all the "collectors" realize there are thousands of NM copies out there. Don't get cuaght up into the collectability of the industry...that ship has come and sailed way back in the early 70's.

Speaking of Batman and Robin, there was an interview where Morrison said he could have written Dick and Damien stories for years, and I really wish DC would have let him. That was easily my favorite part of his Batman run. |

Ehhhh. I don't know if Snyder was doing an ode to years past or whatever but Joker dubiously leaping off a cliff into water.. pretty damn cliche. Also the HaHa stuff.. pretty sure that was ripped from Batman R.I.P with the red/black cards.. both "big reveal" was in front of the bat computer. The overall premise just flat out did not make sense to me. So Bats didn't tell anyone that Joker MAY HAVE been to the batcave, thus MAY HAVE known their identities all a long therefore the bat family hates Bruce for this. WHAT??? There's been plenty of villians who've made it to the batcave and Bruce never told anyone.. why should they resent Bruce for that? It's idiotic. Their relationships are too strong for something as weak as that get in the way.

I liked the end of the Action Comics run. One of those types nerdgasm types of moments with Superman getting defeated all his life.. so at the "present" he already has a life of experience in fighting him Yeah Dick & Damian as Batman & Robin was THE BEST. That should have been the 21st century dynamic duo but we all knew Bruce had to come back at some point. He said that on the Kevin Smith Fatman on Batman podcast. It's really interesting hearing him talk about that run. In one interview he says that Batman was getting too dark again so he brought back adventure/60's Adam West vibes but replaced the campiness with creepyness which is totally spot on with what they were able to accomplish. |

I've been trying to get into any of the New 52 Batman books. I've been kind of jumping back and forth between them all to get a feel for which one I like best. I don't really care for Batman & Robin. I don't like Damian Wayne like...at all. Seeing him in the new animated film "Son of Batman" just cemented my distaste for him. I'd rather see more Batman and Nightwing teaming up. In the animated movies in recent years, I've enjoyed his character pretty well.

Welp you're in for a treat because in the next couple months Nightwing is being cancelled/"killed off" and Dick Grayson will now be a Winter Soldier knock-off spy agent known as Grayson.

It's also worth mentioning that if you've got an iPad...Chunky (which is my CBR reader of choice) is now free. All kinds of syncing options including Transporter syncing which is amazeballs.
