So SD took two steriod using cheaters in the first round that year.

I did find it a bit strange that a 270+ lbs. linebacker was running the times he did although there isn't proof that he was on the juice at that particular juncture.

What is the drug testing policy? How often do they give random test? I would think it would be hard to be on roids if they do random tests. Is it worth it to players to chance it? Are they really that dumb?

I agree with you on most counts.

I think Welbourne's a piece of crap too, the guy left his team in a lurch. When you're a part of an organization it isn't just about you, it's about the whole. Welbourne had a responsibility to the team and he ****ed up. He ****ed up after he had already been given a "warning". I'm not a huge fan of him at all at this point and if he does come back then he shouldn't be given a starting job by virtue of his talent. Black and Sampson may not have skill equal to Welbourne but at least they didn't screw the team.

I know one of Merriman's trainers who is not surprised by these allegations. He said Merriman gained serious muscle mass quickly after college.
