It'd be nice if they'd figure something out seeing how stale their product is..

I think it's time to admit their golden boy chosen one Randy Orton, is not the answer.

Orton would be fine if they didn't continually cut him off at the knees and make his stable look weak.

Even if they didn't he's still a very boring character...

Orton doesn't have mainevent charisma or ring work, you need one or the other, he has a mainevent look, which is hindered when the other guys in his group look like they could be his little brothers.

The word methodical is used for Orton because there's not another sort of nice word to use for him. He moves around the ring slowly, he wrestles at a very slow pace, even cuts promos in a very slow type of manner. It's like he thinks if you do a couple things but do them really slowly it makes them mean more. A guy who has his build should be able to do more than he does in the ring, he's not held back by muscularity, he's never had any super nasty injury, he really needs to work on getting better in the ring and mixing up his style a little.

I'm not sure there's any hope for him on the mic, he just isn't naturally charismatic. I'm sure he could atleast be ok at it but right now he's seems to be getting worse.

Honestly he reminds me alot of Jeff Jarrett when he was in WCW, a guy who had always been a solid talent but booking him in the mainevent didn't work because he wasn't that level of performer.

I think Orton is a mid to upper midcard player and booking him in the mainevent is a bit over his head.

RAW could have all the talent in the world and it would still suck. The product is overly-written and terribly booked. That Cornette piece from way back in the thread that you posted demonstrates that.

Being better than Batista is not a goal one should set for themselves if they want to be in the mainevent.

Batista was literally over for 1 very small period in his career and that's it.

Maybe it's suppose to be a subtle turn but I guess if they think Jeff Hardy is leaving they can't really turn him unless they want to make Edge a face.

This made me think he was turning heel..

Devin Cutting is reporting that the advertised line-up for the WWE Supershow in Salisbury, MD and in Wildwood, NJ is featuring a tag team match of John Cena and Rey Mysterio vs Big Show and CM Punk. This booking would indicate that CM Punk is in fact turning heel on Smackdown following his World Heavyweight Championship win at "Extreme Rules," however, as is often the case with WWE, creative plans can and do change.

Maybe I haven't paid much attention but it seems as long as Batista was healthy he was always near the top of the ticket whether it was on Raw or Smackdown.

Being near the top of the ticket doesn't speak to him being good or over, the only time in his career he was legit over was right after evolution and his feud with Triple H that ended with him winning at Mania and in the hell in the cell then he got moved to Smackdown...he was over the rest of that year till he got injured and vacated the belt resulting in crying Batista fan, since then he hasn't been over.

He's been given repeated title shots when they had no one else to turn to and lost, he's gotten injured about 20 times (and people think Kennedy is injury prone this guy is just as bad) his promo skills have gotten worse...

He frankly is only near the top of the card because Vince McMahon has a bodybuilder fixation. And he appeals to the same group of fans Cena does just not to as big of a level, kids who are impressed that he's big and women that want to **** him.

I think you have a drastically different definition of "over" than the rest of the world.

Seriously, at what period has Batista not gotten among the biggest reactions in the company? People like the guy.

You should talk to a friend of mine, he literally thinks Batista is biggest pile of shit that ever walked and he will tell you straight to your face that the guy has no fans. His exact line was there is no difference in Batista and the Great Khali.

He has fans sure but I was talking more in line with where he was pushed, he had 1 period where he was legit mainevent over.

At least it's interesting, unlike Raw.

Although for all the Orton bashing earlier, I have to say, Hun-Tor was way, way more over Monday than I ever expected. That wasn't all him. People hate Orton. Although they were feeding off the opening segment.
