Former Patriots offensive lineman Ryan O'Callaghan has been awarded to the Kansas City Chiefs on waivers.

The Browns also put in a claim on O'Callaghan, but the Chiefs had priority based on having the worse record in 2008.

Former Patriots Vice President of Player Personnel Scott Pioli is in his first year as Chiefs general manager, so he has a background with O'Callaghan, a 2006 fifth-round draft choice in New England.

He's definitely stiff in pass pro, but I don't think he's as bad as Ndukwe. Richardson is better in pass pro than O'Callaghan, but not near the run blocker.

Richardson can get better over time and has a much higher ceiling, but I like the idea of letting him sit till around the bye.

watching against the Giants and O'callaghan looks like he is a pretty good pass blocker.

Good leverage, quick feet

He looks to be an immediate upgrade for us in pass protection. I wondered about power and run blocking though.

Yup. Looks like they swapped him with Richardson on the roster.

Barry was inactive for all but 4-5 games last season, so I think he's still PS eligible. But I forget the nitty gritty specifics.
