Web Designers/Develops Question

Recently got a quote for wife's business to redo her website (not going ecommerce, just a site that allows us to generate dynamic content). I'm curious if this quote seems reasonable to you guys? We're going to get some comps, but we do a lot of business with this company already in printing, so we'd like to use them.. but damn.. seems high. I guess creating a custom wordpress theme/layout is pretty difficult, and they definitely do good work. I don't know.

Overview:
Create an engaging website that presents key information about the store in an engaging way. The site will be responsively designed to display information cleanly, regardless of platform.

Deliverables:
Creative/Communication:

• Identity style guide to maintain brand consistencey: $500

Digital:

• Design: $1,500
• Custom Wordpress Development: $3, 875
• QA/Bug Testing: $625

Total:
$6,500

Seems like the WordPress redesign of another web site I was involved in was in that ballpark. I certainly don't think it's excessively high if the product is polished.

Yeah. As I think about it, it's not ridiculously priced. I guess I'm still thinking in terms of, "I'm going to have my buddy design me up a website" instead of corporate, "We're building a custom brand identity for the world to see, using a reputable, talented firm whose work we love."

I'm on a volunteer board for an organization that just renovated their website. We did some research and went with Wix. I didn't do any of the work, but it was dramatically cheaper than that but you have to have wix do the hosting.

Yeah, you could definitely find someone to do it cheaper. It's usually the quality that you're paying for in these cases.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, it's important for our business model and identity to use somebody local for this.
