This winter I have become addicted to having music on while I run. I have an iPod, but no headphones that hold up to running. One thing I don't like are headphones that plug in like earplugs.

Anybody have headphones they particularly love? How do you tote your iPod while running? Thanks for any help.

I go bluetooth and keep my phone in my pocket. My Soyo Freestylers come with a bluetooth adapter in case your device isn't already bluetooth. They run about $80-100 but you can find them at frys and on ebay brand new for around $25.

I literally wore my first pair for 18 months and sweated into them so bad that the connectors had rust from all the sweat around them. They held up for that long. To give you an idea of the amount of sweat, it was about 130lbs of fat that I lost. They just kept ticking, long past when I expected them to die. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Nice. Thanks for the recommendation. So just to be clear, since this includes a "TX10 Bluetooth Stereo Transmitter" I would be able to plug my iPod Nano into that and use the Bluetooth?

I used them on a 30gb Zune that didn't have bluetooth just to see if that transmitter worked. I had no problems at all. It really shouldn't be an issue, but I don't know about your IPod for sure.

I use mine on my phone which I store my music on.

Isn't there a quality loss with bluetooth like that?

Not in my experience at all. These Soyo headphones are as nice as any pair I've ever owned. The clarity and volume levels are top notch IMO.

I use an arm strap for the iPod, but then, I have a Nano. It's small, so it's not a big deal. As far as headphones, I've tried many different styles, but none compare to the bargain bin headphones for running/exercising.

These are what I use:

Plenty of bass and good range, but it doesn't block out ambient noise that you need to be alert to, like bikes passing you, or god forbid, car horns. You can also hear the cars coming.

i use these when i hit my punching bag and they never have fallen off my head. I go for about 20-30 min session on the heavy bag, and like i said, they never once came off.

Thanks. Thinking the armband makes most sense for me as well since mine is also a Nano.
