We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Sure there was. Tradition. We've had it in one form or another on our helmet for roughly 40 years and it was a fantastic classic look in it's most recent form w/ the triple stripe. Whereas Michigan has had their winged helmets for 100 years or whatever...however long we've had helmets in football. People knew who we were when they saw our helmets. That's just some b.s. marketing ploy the university put out in an attempt to snow those who preferred that traditional look.

If they got rid of the yoke crap on the road jerseys & gray jerseys, put a while outline on the #'s on the home blacks & gold #'s w/ a white outline on the grays they wouldn't look that atrocious.

But really getting rid of the grays altogether is what I'd do w/ the changes above and that wouldn't be all that bad.

The only thing to salvage these current helmets is light a match...

That is just what I would do but I get that there are varied opinions and tastes out there. It really would have been no trouble at all to keep the old helmet in the rotation w/ those new ones and frankly should have been done.

I like the traditional M on the helmet but our jersey's back then were horrible, looked like HS uniforms in the Larry Smith years.

Berkstresser is out for the year after surgery so we are very thin at QB depth now. Better hope Mauk stays healthy. Rumor has it they've had Berkstresser practicing with the kick coverage teams, Pinkel just why?

He wasn't really going to be the backup QB anyway. If Mauk is REALLY injured at some point, Printz will play. Period. Also, there is evidence that Frank will be returning sooner than anticipated.

At this point, Berk has improved, but he's more valuable as an athlete.

According to PowerMizzou, Printz has been taking all the 2nd team snaps (and some 1st team snaps) in practice and would have played if Mauk got hurt. Not saying this isn't a big blow, but it sounds like Berkstresser would have needed two Freshman qb's to get hurt before he played.

I know I shouldn't fret but players are getting injured like crazy this year in the SEC, it's pretty worrisome. You guys think Printz is ready if he has to come in in a pinch?

Not Pitt Gorilla, but I've read he's looked really good in practice, FWIW. He's taken some 1st team snaps, so that says a lot I think.

Hearing that is good news as we all saw what Berk looked like last yr so Prinz passing him so quickly bodes well. The thing to fret about if is more that we'd be down to our 3rd string QB in that scenario in general.

As for whether he'd be ready...I mean he's a true freshman. Rarely does that work out. It's just too much to ask usually so hopefully we don't find out.
