Thank you KU fans!

I want to thank you all! I am not a KU fan, but then again I am not a big MU fan, as a matter of fact, I don't follow any collegiate sports very much. My brother does though. He and his friends meet in Vegas every year during the first two rounds of March Madness, and have been for about 6 or 7 years. After fending off invitations for several years, this year I finally went. I had a blast.

I learned how to bet sports, and following their advice was doing well (breaking even, which is doing well in my book) and then, mainly to be an ass to people back at work (yes, you and others Braincase)...you know the ones, KU this, and KU that...KU is the greatest, KU blah, blah, blah. (Heh...probably how I sound about the Chiefs to someone who is not a fan) I bet on Bradley. I bet big. I bet KU not to cover and Bradley to win outright. (moneyline for those that bet sports...paid $38 for every $10 spent).

I was sitting in a poker tournament at the Sahara when the final seconds ticked...and stood up and yelled, whooped and hollered. They all thought I just won a hand and was a moron. (Half right

)

Now I know it's disappointing when 'your' team loses, but hey, if many of you weren't such jerks about the success of your team and the failures of the team you assume is 'mine', I would have never bet against KU.

So I wanna say....THANKS!

P.S. I am about to step into a meeting, so I will answer all flames (that warrent it) later!

the amount of post-game ripping on KU fans does not even compare to any pre-game trash talking from KU fans.

All I remember was a group of fans happy that KU had beaten Texas, and looking forward to the tourney.

Now everyone acts like we had declared KU the Champs, the next-coming of UCLA, "stay out of our way or pay!" I saw none of that.

(at least that's not what I saw, but I wasn't here very much last week.

Well, I did start a thread about Jay Bilas on ESPN predicting KU to reach the Final Four. Shame on me!! I should be burned at the stake.

I am certain you are right about what was on the board last week, I was absolutely swamped at work, and then flew out to Vegas, so I did not have time to look much, but this isn't about last week, but about what goes on all season long with KU fans (or, really any sports fans). For me it's pay back because people seem to think that because I live in Missouri, it's appropriate to rub MU's losses in my face.

I was in the Nashville Airport Wednesday night.....60 year old women and men were filling out brackets....and I overhear...."I'm going to go with an underdog to win it all....Kansas".

At that point right there, I knew we were doomed.

Historically, KU has never handled expectations very well. (Rhode Island loss....Arizona loss....UTEP was in there somewhere too if I remember correctly....not to mention the last two years).

What is with all of these pitiful insecure fans of K-State & Missouri? KU fans root for their team and their long tradition. K-State & Missouri fans root for the Jayhawks to lose. It has been this way forever!

Ahhh, I love a living breathing example of my point. It's this kind of senseless and utterly inane comment that makes me dislike KU fans.

I am not an MU fan, hell I'm not even a college basketball fan. (Although watching the games last week was fun) I couldn't name a single player on a college team if you put a gun to my head.

You can't make me eat crow, because I have no team to root for, and I don't predict any outcomes...but because of poeple such as yourself, I enjoyed seeing KU lose. In fact the thought of it tickled me so much, I went ahead and bet against them. Since I was already doing well in the sports book, I bet big.
