Who is your Chiefs breakout player of 2016?

Mines Dee Ford.

I saw a guy last year wearing #55 that got to QBs with relative ease once he got a chance, but also had trouble finishing plays with sacks instead of pressures....but he also lead the NFL in December in pressures.

Tamba was a very similar player in 2007/2008 and then got over the hump of just creating a lot of pressure and being a poor run defender into becoming a sack machine. I see a similar jump for Ford as a pass rusher (I don't think 9-10 sacks is an unrealistic goal for him).

Who is your breakout player for KC in 2016?

What we need them to be:

Offense - Chris Conley
Defense - KeiVarae Russell (contrary to popular belief, we need a 2nd outside corner more than pass rusher Dee Ford)

*crossing fingers that Houston gets healthy quickly

Dee Ford, I just think we will have the lead in more games this year. As a result he will be in more Sub packages able to rush the passer. And with more playing time i think he will produce....

I'll give him 8 Sacks, and take the over.

I like all of the guys mentioned so far (Ford, LDT, Gaines, Conley) as possibilities. I'll add one more:

Justin March.

The way Dorsey talks about this guy is eerily similar to how he talked about Kelce coming off his rookie year/injury. I think he at the very least takes Mauga's job and gives us another LB next to DJ that can cover and make plays in the passing game.

I hope so man, DJ is a greek god.... But, I'm really looking forward to the next one.

I also wouldn't mind us bring in Bruce Carter in for a look. I know he bombed out in TB, but his last year in Dallas he did have a good year. Would love to have that 4.4 speed in the middle covering TE's

My 2 cents are on the Murray kid. Tough, very good tackler and folks aren't expecting too much out of him. I think he'll be on the field a lot and will exceed expectations.

While I voted for Gaines, I'll also set forth a dark horse candidate, provided his foot injury has healed.

I present for your consideration James O'Shaughnessy.

Yeah, he's behind Kelce on the depth chart, so he's not going to start. But we saw that he can catch and move, and he's essentially an oversized receiver. I could see the Chiefs using a lot of two-TE sets for blocking and to isolate him on linebackers, and if that's the case he could be pretty productive.

That's a good one. O'Shaughnessy showed some flashes early on last year.

I'm going to go way outside of the box and say Spencer Ware.

Jamaal will see a big reduction in carries and while West will see plenty of touches, I think that Ware has the ability to break open games with his speed and power and seal them in the 4th quarter.
