Will Charles hold out for a better contract?

Jamal is going to be paid a paltry $2.5 million in 2014. Thats not a typo. $2.5 million. One of the best running backs with 2-3 years left of prime time in his career..........I'm sure his agent is whispering in his ear. The Chiefs know its an insulting salary to pay one of the best RB's in the league.

You can say he signed it, play the contract out. But, its the real world.

NFL RB's that hold out always, always get their money. The template is clear. If Charles would set out a year, he loses $2.5 Million. You think he doesn't make that up in a new contract next year.

Anyone want to bet that the Chiefs give Charles a new contract this off season to avoid a nasty contract fight?

Never see a deal like that for a non qb again. Not even close.

I'd give that up to get a guy like Andrew Luck, but just because I think this team would be completely unbeatable with a guy like him at QB.

Like you said though, never again for a nonqb.

I sure wouldn't.

I'm not saying JC faked this at all and think he has great character BUT you saw the play he went out on and JC was barely touched if at all and it was a simple hard fall to the ground. Would you give this guy a big ass contract after that?
How many concussions have you suffered?

Serious brain damage is obvious.

Trade JC all day long ****ing JC who in there right mind would think of trading JC...

Clearly the best the chiefs have at this point you don't trade JC no team could come up with enough picks to pry him away.

Colts were stupid for giving up a first round pick for a RB this year

Not really.

It comes down to it you cut/trade Hali to make room for Charles...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

We need to give Smith a new contract. We need to give Charles more money. Houston's contract is up, we can't let him walk. Someone has to go besides Albert. Hali is holding the short straw.

Hali and Flowers have to go then. I think a great franchise would look at those two as expendable given their ridiculous cap hits..

Then again, a great franchise likely wouldn't have given Bowe the contract he got. We can still hope that one pans out for us though.

Alex and Houston are both signed through 2014. Charles is signed through 2015.

Talking about getting rid of Hali is silly. He is the heart and soul of this defense.

I would like to believe he is but I think Hali is losing a step.

Also DJ is the heart and soul of this defense but where was he against the Colts?

The fact of the matter is just this. It's a team game. You really have to be solid in every phase to win it all. For the most part. I'm sure you know this and I'm not singling you out. I just happened to be responding to your post when I decided to ramble on.
Yes, I know it. I just couldn't resist taking a shot at Elway to the Donkey fan who made the original statement.
