Why can't coaches see this? I know the idea is to stop the offense from getting a lot of yards, but they still do just in smaller plays. It doesn't work and should not be used. It killed us all day long today. Why is it that only fans seem to recognize this?

Hader,
Based on Gun's post-game comments, I think he finally does see it. There is simply no excuse for backing LBs off LOS to protect the "young" secondary. As a result, Gannon was not contained.
Hats off to the Raiders. They never quit. Hopefully, we've learned some lessons to take into the game next week. The Chiefs CAN'T go conservative against the Rams. They must ATTACK every down, on O and D.

Agree 100%. I'm never going to call a prevent when I'm defensive coordinator. Prevent D should ONLY be used when you are up by 17+. There should be a simple flowchart for defensive coordinators to follow, much like the 2 pt conversion schematic.

THe prevent works best in the situation the raiders had against the Chiefs at the end of the game. I don't know if they used it because I wasn't watching on TV but if they did it worked.
