It will be interesting to see if they can actually sell this event. With the abundance of tickets for sale in the parking lot before the game, you would think people would go for the real thing rather than watching it on TV.
It could be a fun time, especially if the weather is nice, and I have to agree with Luz. Watching that Denver game at the end of the Chiefs game back in 97 was a blast. But if we're sitting at 1-3 or 2-2 come that game, will the fans turn out? I have my doubts. |

gh4chiefs,
2-2?? The Chiefs have a better chance of being 0-4 than 2-2. I hate to say it, but I am hoping that they are winless come that Monday night game. Kauffman will be empty and it will be a bit embarassing. Then maybe, just maybe, Carl and Lamar will get a clue. |

Cannibal,
No doubt about that. The Packers stink. At least I can admit it. They are looking at a 6-10 season. I hope I am wrong, but they too will start off 0-2. As you know, it is very difficult to get to the top and stay on top. Very few teams are able to do that. |

The Packers should probably begin the rebuilding process as well. There is a lot of mediocre talent on that football team.
How far over the cap will they be next year? I know it's not as bad as we have it here in KC, but I was just wondering. |

They are in good shape. Chumura and Butler come off. They havent done squat in FA because they pay the big three big money (Favre, Freeman, and Levens). You have to pay for success. The Packers won when Freeman and Levens were still under their rookie contracts. Thats how it is done in the NFL. The problem for the Packers is that these guys havent produced for a year and a half. When the cap goes up, they will have plenty of room. I just hope Wolf doesnt waste on a guy like Chester.

not sure why this bothers anyone????....
WHO CARES??? if someone wants to pay ten bucks to watch the game on diamond vision after tailgating at arrowhead.....I say thanks for an opportunity to enjoy the game in an unique way. and another thing.....if any of you think there is an owner out there who doesnt try to make every last cent he can....you are sadly mistaken..... ie. dan snyder charging 10 bucks to watch practice. and another thing.....the chiefs and lamar do not own arrowhead.....they do not get the same stadium revenue other clubs get (ie naming rights) so whats wrong with them trying to make a few extra bucks????...i would think most of you who squawk about how we should go out and get the big time playmakers would be happy they are trying to scape up a few extra bucks bottom line: if you think this is a terrible thing and lamar should be ashamed and duh duh duh..... DONT GO!!!! |

The most hilarious thing on this board is certain people dogging Lamar "just wants to fill the seats" and "make money" Hunt.
How conveinent for all of you to forget the writing on the wall. Lamar has lost more money in football than most of will ever make in our lives. He lost One MILLION dollars trying to promote the AFL...remember this is the late 50's, you do the math ...Who is his father? H.L. Hunt. Like money has ever been a "problem" for the Hunt family. If anything, he deserves your respect for creating the AFL...Those players back then practiced on high school fields. When the Jets won the Super Bowl, Namath commented on the three players waiting for them at the airport to celebrate overcoming the NFL...Willie, Buck, and maybe Abner....Chiefs pride runs deeper than any rant of horrible they are, or have been. This organizations is bigger than all of us. It is the reason for many joys and sorrows. It is football in Kansas City...Thanks to Lamar Hunt. Stevie-Some of what you say is true, one thing I take issue with is this though;
"This organizations is bigger than all of us." Actually, individually you are correct, collectively it doesn't hold a candle to "us." In fact collectively we ARE the organization. WE are what has allowed Lamar to prosper in KC. Don't give many any song and dance about philanthropy either............Mr Kauffman was a philanthropist in KC. If you could hold every thing that Lamar has done for KC in your hand you couldn't hold what Mr Kauffman did (and still does) for KC inside Arrowhead. Lamar did not create the great fans of KC (and surrounding area) he benefited from them. Nothing wrong with that, I'm just growing weary of the idea that he is a God or something. |

I don't think he is a God...But I do respect what he did for football...And that is bigger than you and I. Being a fan doesn't put us anywhere close to Lamar's props...

SR-I won't try to take your opinion from you, just realize that it is what it is. I am convinced that the consumers in any market are larger than the producer. (Not you, not I, not the two of us together, but all of us as a group.)Without the consumer what would be the need for the product? Don't think that I don't respect what Lamar did for football but just to put it into perspective, it's a freaking game, it's entertainment. Nothing more.

I agree...But blame the game, not the player...
When he lost that million, hid dad replied "At this rate, he's got another 150 years." Let's be honest here, The Chiefs don't make or break Lamar. |
