I really like James Franklin, but Gabbert is the kind of QB you get maybe once every 30 years at a school like Mizzou.

He is one fine physical specimen.

Yeah, this is not a good thing for Mizzou football. It doesn't have to be the end of the world, for sure, because Franklin is a skilled player, but there is no way this can be spun as a positive.

Save that now I'll get to laugh at all the folks who argued that Gabbert was the problem in '10.

This team had a really good shot to play in a BCS game next year, with an outside shot at a NC.

This costs us, minimum, 2-3 wins next year.

Probably true, but we weren't using him any better than we would've been using Franklin.

Though it would've been intriguing to see if he could've gone all Manningish with the WRs he'd have had next season.

I just don't see us taking a great step back at QB, even though Gabbert's talent is otherwordly.

I feel the same way.

And I don't see that as a knock on Gabbert.

I think when you look at this team as a whole they could absolutely keep going where they left off.
