NHL expansion to Las Vegas is 'a done deal'

http://www.si.com/nhl/2014/08/26/rep...egas-done-deal

Hopefully somebody ponies up for KC. We look to be 4th in running. No ownership group will hurt once again.

Two teams have moved since the Sprint Center opened, neither league expanded. Both teams moved because their ownership group was from the city that they moved the team to.

Yes. Well, maybe not better, but on par with. Expansion teams are usually pretty successful in the NHL right out of the gate. They get early picks in drafts and priority for free agents as the NHL tries to make them competitive to build a fan base. Kansas City is a great sports town in general. I don't get why our pro sports teams don't commit more to winning the way Sporting has. Sporting is proving that, if you put a winner on the field/court, this town will support it. I don't care if it's curling. Win Kansas City a championship or be continuously competitive and we will buy your tickets.

I can't figure out if he was being sarcastic and I'm missing out on an inside joke or if he was being serious.

Its interesting to hear all of this expansion talk pop up after the Islanders deal was done. I figured that's the one team that would be an excellent relocation possibility even with them moving to the Barclays Center.
