That's bull$#it.

Reid is the guy that sat Smith down and told him he HAD to throw more down the field.

Give Smith a legitimate TE and better protection and you won't see Smith clinging to Charles' nuts...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

So you are saying that Reids history of swings and screens to his RB are bullshit?

Even though the evidence is right there in front of us?

I agree, Smith needs better TE's to work with...

I think it's very telling that Reid inquired about Foles before getting Alex. I think Alex was a solution they had to make, and I believe they haven't signed him bc they don't want to throw the bank at him.
I think they want an out somewhere and Alex doesn't agree with it.

Keep Alex and continue searching for the QB, but don't massively overpay for him. At least that gives us a viable QB while we are looking.

Alex did spread the ball around pretty well.

JC = 104 targets
Bowe = 105
Avery = 72
McC = 81
Beard = 40
Fasano = 33
Sherman = 24
other trio of WRs = 41

Yes, a legit TE and better protection would help immensely, but that doesn't change the fact that Reid loves to throw to his HB.

It wasn't an organizational failure for any of those guys.

The Broncos led the league in yac last season with 2700 yards.

The Seahawks didn't win the SB because of physical coverage.
They won because the minimized yac.
The raiders have never been anything since Gannon left. No coincidence that had to do with organizational instability.

The Texans built their team wrong never building in the trenches leaving carr to get murdered.

It's not always the qb who makes or breaks a franchise. Sometimes franchises are just broken

Definitely this bolded part. Alex and agent are probably being a bit too expectant, in that they want 3 or more years damn near guaranteed. Alex should probably bend and take a deal that allows KC to cut loose after 2 years. That's just the way it's going for non-elite but good QBs, it seems.

What ****ing sense does it make to offer a long term deal to a QB who scrambles a lot, holds the ball too long, is 30, and will be playing behind an offensive line that will likely get him injured?...

Or stand pat, demand the moon and wait until the season is over to shop your services.

Either way, he is going to get paid and get the deal he wants...

Only the Chiefs would sign him to a mega deal then not protect that investment with a solid OL...

BECAUSE CHIEFS

They didn't even get help at receiver in the deepest draft for wideouts in years
