That's what happens when there are 2 Final Four teams in the conference.

Tulsa is actually joining the AAC this summer. You know, the conference with the current national champion.

Without spending much time analyzing Mizzou basketball - which no sane man would do - it seems he lost his 3 best players and didn't get good feedback from new mercenaries he wanted to bring in. So he was looking at a losing record and a termination. He will let the new coach have a shell roster.

They will be very bad the next couple years no matter who they hire. At least there won't be any sexual assaults. Hopefully.

Haith leaving is an obvious upgrade, and we don't even know who they've hired yet.

I am sure that they will have no trouble getting a good coach in there to compete in a conference that comprised half the final four this year. They have the cash to spend, even if it is to try to upgrade a secondary sport. Look at the cranes over the football stadium if you don't think they do.

Let's be honest - if Mizzou wants to be competitive right out of the blocks with their new coach, it's going to cost them. They CAN pony up if they so choose, so it will be interesting to see where they go in their search.

But ultimately it's like Cochise said - Haith gone is an upgrade in and of itself.

The Chick-fil-A Bowl is called the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl again.

Quote:
The change back to Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl stems from last April’s decision by College Football Playoff organizers to make the Atlanta bowl one of six rotating sites of national semifinal games.

The playoff organizers stipulated that the Atlanta bowl’s name would have to become more in sync with the other five in the semifinal rotation, all of which include a traditional moniker as well as a corporate sponsor: Allstate Sugar Bowl, Discover Orange Bowl, AT&T Cotton Bowl, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and Rose Bowl Presented by Vizio.

Go hire a KU grad. Seriously, ask Colorado-Wake-San Fran-Florida Gulf if they're happy. Why would you hire someone from Miami FL when you can get a KU alum who is guaranteed to know what he's doing. Hell our grads built te Kentucky and Carolina programs too

I'll give you that - I never understood once why Haith was even on the radar. Not landing Matt Painter showed that Alden went into the process with no backup plan whatsoever, and we see how that turned out.

He has to do WAY better due diligence this time around. If that leads to an up and coming KU assistant, then fine by me, if that guy has what they are looking for.

You shoulda hired Danny Manning last year. Not sure he takes the job but Mizzou is a huge jump for an assistant and you pay well. He could walk into any home in KC or St Louis and connect instantly with all the black families sice hes well known locally. St Louis alone should provide MU enough talent to be a ranked team each season. That city is probably the best talent center in about a 9 state area apart from Chicago

Surely you aren't confused about the location of the Kansas City Chiefs, are you?

Maybe Tad Boyle would be a possible choice?

The likelihood of hiring a KU grad or someone from the KU tree is lower than the likelihood of hiring Kim Anderson (in case you haven't seen my thoughts on that: Less than zero).

Who knows where the coaching search lands, but it should land in a much better place than Frank Haith.

Of course MU wouldn't, it's a blow to self esteem. I don't see why though since KU hired a KSU grad as AD and Mangino from OU by way of once coaching for Snyder (as the AD did too). Then hired a Nebraska guy. Won't alway work out but putting pettiness aside to hire from the best programs seems like a smart plan.

I'd bet anything KU would hire Pinkel in a heartbeat.

So last night, Harry and Boal were listing the Mizzou coaching candidates. Jay Wright, Greg Marshall, Shaka Smart. It was incredible to witness. Delusions of grandeur much?
