Who do you think will be our Day One starter at QB next season?

Poll to follow unless I intentionally throw it into the ground to avoid a turnover.

If it's a draft choice, we have to hope that Pioli isn't the GM. Are we forgetting? "No one knows Cassel better than Pioli."

This is our GM; this is empirical evidence of his knowledge and skill set.

This is the time we've been waiting for. It will be a first round rookie. Let's just hope they pan out better than Sanchez, Gabbert, etc.

If it's not Geno Smith, I will smear poop on Rain Man's office window.

(I suggest you call up Pioli now and "make a deal" if you don't want to look at feces when you're at the office, Kevin)

This.

We'll trade for the b/u from whatever team wins the SB...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

What's sad is I'm pretty sure a grey bearded T0DD could have taken over after Green, played here until he retired, and we'd probably have been better off...

As some background, there have been 66 first-round quarterbacks drafted since the year we picked up Blackledge. This counts a few first-rounders in the supplemental draft, but excludes the special draft of USFL players when that league shut down.

Here's the list of them by team. The only two teams that have not drafted a quarterback in the first round during this period (1984-2012) are Kansas City and New Orleans. (In fairness, we've traded first-round picks for both Montana and Green in the past.)

4 teams have drafted four first-round quarterbacks.
7 teams have drafted three first-round quarterbacks.
11 teams have drafted two first-round quarterbacks.
8 teams have drafted one first-round quarterback.
2 teams have not drafted a first-round quarterback.

Bills - Losman
Dolphins - Tannehill
Patriots – Bledsoe
Jets – Sanchez, Pennington
Ravens - Flacco, Boller
Bengals – Palmer, Ak Smith, Klingler
Browns - Weeden, Quinn, Couch, Kosar (suppl. Pick)
Steelers - Roethlisberger
Texans - Carr
Colts – Luck, P. Manning, George
Jaguars - Gabbert, Leftwich
Titans - Locker, V. Young, McNair, J. Everett
Broncos - Tebow, Cutler, Maddox
Raiders – Russell, Marinovich
Chargers - E. Manning, Leaf

Cowboys – Walsh (suppl. Pick), Aikman
Giants - P. Rivers, D. Brown (suppl. Pick)
Eagles – McNabb
Redskins - Griffin, J. Campbell, P. Ramsey, Shuler
Bears – Grossman, McNown, Harbaugh
Lions - Stafford, Harrington, A. Ware, C. Long
Packers - Rodgers
Vikings – Ponder, Culpepper
Falcons – Ryan, Vick, C. Miller
Panthers – Newton, K. Collins
Buccaneers – Freeman, Dilfer, Testaverde
Cardinals – Leinert, Rosenbach (suppl. Pick), Stouffer
Rams - Bradford
49ers - A. Smith, Druckenmiller
Seahawks – Mirer, D. McGwire
