When you're that close, and everythings so compacted... the odds are always better with a run, particularly with a hyperquick, snakey back like JC. |

when you get inside the 20 the offense is very dependent on the run game due to shortened field to pass the ball.

Good grief, "****ing" will get you banned? How is that even filter evasion? It's pre-filtered.

And spelled "****ing" without the "c" right after that.
He's been warned, and I think banned over filter evasion before. Follow the rules, or take a vacation. |

Andy did the right call in that game. Hell, I was pissed at him for not going for it on 4th down and running the same ****ing play. |

I honestly don't have any idea what people are watching pertaining to Alex. The offense has really gelled and Alex is playing like a top 12 QB. He's playing every bit as good as Tom Brady. Think about that. The first 9 weeks he held the ball too long and it was frustrating. The last 5 weeks? Unbelievable. I can't believe he is taking flack for the 2nd Denver game in which he played an A game. The users critiquing his 3rd quarter where he had 2 drives (Jenkins, Fasano drops; 4th and 2 ridiculous punt after a long penalty) is unbelievable, really.
The most impressive thing about Alex all year, to me, (even during the first 9 weeks) is his ability to answer every single game (for the most part) when we needed a drive. He may have been playing like shit, but every single time we needed him he stepped up. There is no doubt our defense carried us to 9-0, but even during that 9-0 I can remember several HUGE drives the offense made when we needed them. I'm not going to go through each game and make specific examples but our defense was playing so well it seemed to me as if our offense was called conservatively because we really never had a reason to chance anything. I'm not saying we were playing NOT TO SCORE, but we were most certainly playing NOT TO TURN THE BALL OVER, since for the first 6 weeks or so our defense was literally lock down. Since the BYE week, our offense and game plan has been totally different. I mean, let's not forget he threw the "game winning" TD against San Diego. Yes, clock management was awful, and yes, Rivers burned us...but holy shit how fluky of an ending was that? Truly painful now that we know what we know about the AFC West standings. Let's put it this way...if Tom Brady was the Chiefs QB this year, I think we'd be 11-3 right now. As for our defense? The absolute refusal for Sutton to adjust and realize everyone has figured out his aggressive man to man 1 safety over defense sickens me. Andrew Luck has been truly average this year (king of junk time), and I fully expect us to beat Indy quite easily Sunday (no way can they run on us, that will be embarrassing for them)...but any truly good QB and good offense we face (I'm sorry, Pep Hamilton is terrible) is going to tear that defense apart unless we start adjusting and mixing up our looks. The game plan we used against Peyton Manning (not once, but twice) was truly hard to watch. Painful was an understatement. And I'm sorry, Marcus Cooper should not see any meaningful snaps anymore this year. I haven't lost faith in his future, but he gets abused. He either needs constant help or needs to be off the field. I just don't get it. Those are my $0.04. |

In fact, with our porous line the first 9 games Alex's ability to get out of the pocket and extend drives with his legs was huge for us. I truly think we'd be 11-3 with Alex Smith (obviously), and 11-3 with Tom Brady. And 6-8 with Geno Smith.

It is funny. I watch so much football it sickens me. Tom Terrific is Terrific. No doubt in my mind. He's the same guy that should have lost to Cleveland @ home, though. His stats are so greatly inflated by the fact his team seems to always be down or battling in the 4th quarter...
that's why stats never paint a picture...Alex has stats of a guy who had a team that constantly had leads and never had to play from behind the first 9 games. That's why his yardage is down. Then you look at Brees last week who put up 400 meaningless yards. Insane. The Chiefs, this year, this team, would be NO BETTER with Tom Brady at QB. Record wise. At this point. |
