I don't think there is any way in hell DGB goes in the first Rd next season.

With his abilities, someone is going to take a shot at him in the 1st. He has 1st overall talent, not just 1st round talent. He's going to stay clean this football season and get selected in the 1st round by someone who is comfortable with taking players who have some character concerns.
He's as close to Calvin Johnson as I've seen in terms of pure football ability. It'll be a slide if he's still there outside of the top 10. |

Also, would you guys like me to start a thread like this for every position group as I go along? Would be nice to have this type of discussion year 'round in this section.

Jesus H Stop Dancing Christ! The Utah Transit Authority uses these guys. No wonder our drafts are so ****ed. (Actually, I jest. I think that the UTA is a pretty decent mass transit system. Maybe there's hope for this shit afterall.) |

But this guy screams major character red flags. He was the best recruit his school ever had and he managed to get kicked off the team. And it wasn't just because of 1 or 2 incidents. Dude's ghetto trash who likes and thinks it's ok to get physical with women because he's a star football player. That's the fastest way out of the league if you wanna have that kind of attitude.

DGB is going to be the most physically talented WR to enter the draft since Calvin Johnson, and probably the third most talented WR prospect of the last 30+ years. Athletically, there's little difference between he, Johnson, or Moss.
If he was on Florida State we wouldn't have heard of any of this. That said, he's not worth it. The guy had a family adopt him and bust their ass to give him the right kind of home and in college he had a supportive coaching staff and he did everything imaginable to **** it up and piss it away. No Mizzou fan is going to be mad if the Chiefs pass on him because he rat-****ed the Tigers more than any Jayhawk ever did.

Man, if he doesn't play football next year we might be able to get him in the 3rd or later.

I think he'll have a fall on draft day that's similar to what Brandon Marshall had in 2006. Two big differences are:
DGB is a superior athlete, better speed and burst than Marshall had coming out. Marshall had superior college production. DGB won't go in the 1st if he doesn't play in 2014. If he ends up being out of shape at the combine and drops some passes and just looks rusty, I could see him falling to the 5th-7th round. I don't think that he falls out of the draft completely like Colt Lyerla did because, purely based on raw physical ability, he is the most gifted WR since Megatron. The only way that he isn't drafted is if he returns to school or has more drug and violence related incidents. If DGB shows up to the combine and lights it up with a 4.4 40, shows great hands, shows great acceleration, proves that he was able to clean up his act for at least 1 year, goes through some form of therapy, and then lights it up at his pro-day as well; I could see him as a top 50 pick despite all of his legal troubles and the fact that he was out of football for a year. |

Brandon Marshall went to UCF. Dorial Green Beckham caught 12 TD passes in the SEC, one fewer than Marshall's entire career. To say Marshall's college production was superior is just ignorant of the talent levels faced.

DGB will essentially have 1 season of good production for teams to look at, weighed against all of his off-the-field issues. Sure, someone might pull the trigger on him in the 1st round, but that's highly unlikely given his issues coupled with his inexperience and the fact that he'll be out of football for a year. |
