Your Favorite Eric Berry Moments

Ever since Berry was drafted in 2010, he's been a fan favorite. He progressively got better every year as a Chief, and would have been a slam dunk Ring of Famer had he stayed healthy.

Since he is de facto retired, barring some miracle recovery, it's worth perhaps going over some of our favorite plays (and other things) Berry's given us over his short, great career.

The thing that sticks out in my mind is "gimme that ball ELIIIII" from last year's Giants game.

My favorite Berry play was probably his first career interception. I can't remember who it was against but it was deep into that fun 2010 season, he was a rookie playing very well and just hadn't secured that first INT yet.

Berry caught the INT, ran around every which way for 20 minutes, then finally got tackled within 10 yards of the endzone. Flowers guided him up by the shoulder pads and the entire defense swarmed him in a confident strut. You could tell it was important to everyone, and how well liked Berry was.

My dad has season tickets. He's an older man and doesn't have great eyes, but he could always tell when Berry landed the tackle. Berry was a rare form tackler in today's NFL.

I'm sure you guys can think of better moments.

What a crazy year. DJ and now Berry. Maybe I shouldn't start liking any Chiefs players......

Mario Lemieux came back from Hogkin's Lymphoma. Hopefully EB can make it back. His youth and him being an elite athlete in great shape can do nothing but help in this situation. Regardless, I want him to beat it as a person and not just because he's a Chief.

Get better Eric!

Interesting. I figured after a year he could maybe make some of that up. I guess not.

Mine was being at the home playoff game against the Ravens (2010?). I think Berry was just a rook at the time, but I remember standing down by the wall as the teams warmed up. When the Ravens took the field, they began stretching in the endzone where we were standing. Berry ran to that end of the field and stood there, staring down the entire Ravens team...sizing them up. The look on his face was so intense, I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Even though we lost that game, I ordered an authentic Berry jersey the following week, and I still wear it every Sunday.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

EB will be back as a football player. Could be next year or the year after that but one thing for certain is that cancer picked a fight with the wrong person.

If cancer picked a fight with Chiefs' Berry, it picked on the wrong guy.
