No.

You seem to think that people who want to draft Geno are just pulling his name out of the hat because they're desperate and would be happy with anybody. Which just isn't true. The people who like Geno want to draft Geno because they think he's going to be very, very good. Which would be why there's dozens of gifs and videos and analysis in that 9000+ post thread.

The simple truth is this: You think Geno is a huge risk. And many, many people disagree with you. Including every single draft "expert" who says he isn't a #1 and then has another team draft him at 3 or 8.

Is that why NFL scouts are saying he is not a sure-fire top 10 pick?

I believe Geno probably is BPA.

When you are grading players, obviously you grade on a curve based on position. To illustrate that, if we had a guy in the draft who was regarded as the very best kicker in the entire decade, there is no way he'd go early, probably not even the first round. He would not be BPA, because that position is not as valuable.

The lack of a good QB is utterly devastating to a team without one, and this is not like kickers where the worst kicker really isn't that much worse than the best, the dropoff from the best to the 2nd-tier QB's in the draft is huge. Some people are acting like Geno is clearly a 2nd-day player, but he isn't. He's a first-round player in any draft, including last year.

You're certainly welcome to disagree. Disagreeing doesn't make you stupid.

A concept RunKC hasn't figured out yet. Because, you know, he thinks that everybody who wants Geno is just an idiot who hasn't, like, watched him play 20+ games over three years, and read all kinds of commentary on him, and has been talking about him for months and even years. Nope. RunKC says the "NFL Scouts" he has imaginary conversations with tell him Geno Smith isn't a good QB, and anybody who disagrees is just dumb.

Geno is a huge risk and isn't a sure thing and so is anyone in everyone in this mediocre QB class. Are all QB's a risk? Yes. But when when several NFL scouts question this entire class and say that they feel they aren't very good prospects, you don't draft for NEED and take one 1st overall because you NEED it. I'll take the scouts opinion over anyone on this board. The desperate mindset is amazing on here yikes.

Maybe that's why they want to trade down. Because they know they can get more picks and get a good QB prospect they like in the 6-10 range.
Who is it that other teams would covet to move up?

At this point, like Dane has said many times, it's pointless to bitch and moan when 90% of the evaluations on these guys haven't even happened.

As each press conference and statement from Clark Hunt pass, I see the chance of us drafting Geno Smith at #1 at less than 10%. They seem to be dropping trial balloons to prepare the rapid fans it may not and probably will not happen.

I have to trust them.....blind loyalty

I agree... I do not think they will look at a QB with the #1 pick. I personally want a QB but, I don't see it happening there with Dorsey or Reid.
