It's definitely a unique idea, though I think it might've been best off as a mini series. If it lasts theyre going to have to play up the detective cases.

Yeah, I don't see this as a long run series. But, I think that may be NBCs new approach.

I would like to see more of this. Develop a series to only run 1, 2 or 3 seasons. Basically an extended Mini-series.

Yes. Its my opinion that most good shows "best stuff" happens in the first 3 or 4 seasons. Most head downhill after that.

I'm not even referring to ongoing series though. I mean, I think NBC might be going to literally a 8-10 episode run on their new series. Not even a yearly thing. think about it. The Firm wouldn't have worked as an ongoing yearly series. I don't see how Awake could do it either. Hell, most all of NBCs new series this year have been short run series with the exception of the Thursday night lineup.

What happened to that show? Did they finish it out? I remember a few years ago when NBC finished out the season of "The Cape" on the web instead of broadcast.

It'll be interesting to see if the American Horror Story approach catches on. They're essentially going to re-boot every year.
It wouldn't work for a show like this (too far-fetched to have a new 'dreamer' every year), but it would've been a great approach for a show like The Firm; no shortage of scheming law firms in the country. Back on point - I liked Awake. I'm not generally a network drama guy, in fact I've never watched a series regularly. That said, I'll probably give this a shot for the near future, there was definitely some promise there.

I liked the first episode quite a bit. It's in the style of LOST, which is cool. I think the "guy is in a coma" comment is valid, but would think that's an easy plot. It has to be something different... crazy dream, maybe nobody died. We'll see how they keep it going.

I loved the premiere. This has so much potential. Easily my favorite premiere of the season.

I'm not sure how I felt about that last minute. I like mysterious shit, but part of the appeal of the show is that the story is being told from both of his perspectives, and the audience doesn't know any more than he does. So it felt a little...cheap, for lack of a better word.
