Well, I lost my previous one due to a saving error, so you're not getting any explanations on this one.

Assumptions:

1. Chiefs finish 12-4, beat Texans then lose in OT in New England. Reid, Dorsey, Smith all retained.

2. ILB Derrick Johnson does not retire, and will return like Justin Houston did this week.

3. RB Jamaal Charles renegotiates a contract down to 2 years, $4m; P Dustin Colquitt renegotiates his contract down to 2 years, $5m.

4. S Eric Berry is re-signed for 4 years, $44m ($19m guaranteed).

5. The Chiefs tender the following players: FB Trey Millard, WR Albert Wilson, S Daniel Sorensen, K Cairo Santos, LS James Winchester.

6. The following players walk in free agency: QB Nick Foles, RB Knile Davis, OG Mike Person, NT Dontari Poe, DE Kendall Reyes, DE Jarvis Jenkins

7. The following players are cut: FB Anthony Sherman, TE Ross Travis, OLB Frank Zombo, ILB Terrance Smith, CB Kenneth Acker

8. The Chiefs sign QB EJ Manuel (Bills) for two years; TE Anthony Fasano (Titans) for 1 year; NT Chris Baker (Redskins) for four years.

9. The Chiefs bring in 4 compensatory picks: a 4th (Sean Smith), a 5th (Chase Daniel), and two 6ths (Donald Stephenson & Tyvon Branch).

On with the show:

1.28. OG Dan Feeney, Indiana

The Chiefs are satisfied with their roster everywhere. They don't have a QBotF, but they don't think there's one in this draft anyway. Their skill positions are strong, their front seven lost Poe but is still very stout with the signing of Chris Harris, who should beast in this system. Their rotation at passrusher is one of the league's best, and with Terrance Mitchell turning out to be a perfect scheme fit, they have a secondary they really love.

The one area the Chiefs hate, however, is their OL losing the line of scrimmage every game. Both guards need to be upgraded, and by bringing in one of my favorite guard prospects since David DeCastro and returning Parker Ehinger from injury, they've done that.

2.60. RB Samaje Perine, Oklahoma

Perfect scheme fit and finalizes our RB corps as one of the best in the NFL.

3.91. S Marcus Maye, Florida

Perfect scheme fit and gives us one of the best S corps in the NFL.

4.127. QB Nathan Peterman, Pittsburgh

Aaron Murray clone.

4.133 (compensatory). ILB Dylan Cole, Missouri State

Not a scheme fit, just a little hometown love here; Andy Reid's drafted a Missouri State Bear before anyway.

5.166. OT Will Holden, Vanderbilt

5.173 (compensatory). WR Travin Dural, LSU

6.204 (compensatory). TE Pharaoh Brown, Oregon

6.210 (compensatory). CB Deatrick Nichols, South Florida

7.250. ILB Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Tennessee

With our defensive coaching staff, Cunningham would destroy world's here.

Draft him, sign Timmons in free agency and our ilb is legit

I wonder if Pharaoh Brown is still insane. He had three incidents of violence against him and he's gone after his own teammates in the locker room.

No thanks. Guy is a total nut job.

Yup. Especially in a quick passing offense where QBs are taking alot of 3-step drops... which KC happens to run. Does not mean I want to see a 1st round pick spent on one, but I'd be okay with it if KC wins at least one playoff game and is picking late 20s on down.

My prediction is that Dorsey will draft DL, however, because his track record is to think a season or two down the road.
Okay, I could be on board with this breakdown, yet you didn't spend a day 2 pick on any of these? Seems you could go for elite guard at 1 and very good whatever at 2 and 3, but you pass for RB and S despite keeping both Charles and Berry in your offseason plan. You're contradicting yourself bud.

Also wanted to add that Feeney is an absolute beast. If there is one O-lineman I'd give a pass for in round 1 this year, it's him. I don't love the idea, I just don't hate it as much as SNR. Kid very likely will develop into an All-Pro, he's got great size and strength already and outstanding technique, vision, and footwork.

All that said, I really think you should check out Braden Smith from Auburn as a 3rd or 4th rounder. I think he's a similar player that maybe isn't quite as strong out of the box.

I think Dorsey has a position value for first round picks and OG isn't near the top of the list. Taylor Moton W. Michigan, Nico Siragusa San Diego St., and Jordan Morgan Kutztown St. are mid round OG prospects who will be at the Senior Bowl. One of those three would probably fit Dorsey's draft profile more than Dan Feeney in round 1.

Dorsey is a high measurables bpa guy.

I think Tim Williams could make a lot of sense with that pick if he goes pure bpa.

Might as well invest heavily in being able to play top notch defense and run the ball. Any picks spent on receivers (TE or WR) is a waste with the current personnel. Solidify the leaky run defense and get some bulldozers on the interior OL.

The other option is to find a quarterback that doesn't suck, but we know that is highly unlikely to happen.

OLB/ILB/DL. Houston, Hali, Zombo, DJ, Poe, Howard. There's a lot of uncertainty at those positions. Dorsey's proven he's always looking a year ahead.

Always looking a year ahead, unless the position is QB. Then he just says "**** it, having a below average QB is good enough for us. No need to ever address this position."

Yes, Dorsey seems to pay attention to SPARQ ratings (speed, power, agility, reaction, and quickness) in player evaluation. But OT, edge rusher, and CB have been his 1st round picks so far and those are generally higher paid and higher drafted positions than OG, ILB and Safety.

Where the Chiefs are picking, I've got Takkarist McKinley, Edge Rusher, UCLA as the 1st Rd. pick. I think Williams will be gone by the early 20s.
