Madden '17

Anyone getting a little excited? Seems like they have really made an effort this year.

Franchise mode is getting an overhaul according to recent news:

1. Full player editing while your franchise is progressing.

2. Coaching/FO decisions.

3. In-game ticker with live updates.

4. Practice squads.

5. New commentary team that will actually talk about things happening in your franchise.

6. Draft has been tweaked with more busts/gems.

Gameplay improvements:

1. Zone Coverage overhaul.

2. New ball-carrier special moves.

3. Real gap control on defense.

4. Real ball physics. In the past the ball would tether to a player based on ratings.

They also overhauled kicking to make it a challenge now. There's a new three-click system and weather/location will play a factor. Also, apparently on clutch kicks if the opponent "freezes" the kicker by calling a timeout the kicking meter will disappear and you have to make the kick by muscle memory. Kicks and punts can also be blocked.

How badly all of this shit is ****ed up on release remains to be seen but it does seem like they are making a big effort.

I think that's the most celebrating I've done on one play. Thanks, Matt Barkley.

I made the playoffs! Home field advantage!

The number of the beast is upon us once again.

2018 Chiefs Awards:

Robby Chase - Pro Bowl, AFC QB of the year, 3650 yards, 33 TD, 8 INT
Martinez Agholor - Pro Bowl, AFC RB of the year, 1,311 rush yards (6.3 avg), 16 TD, 387 rec yards, 1,150 KR yards (26.1 avg), 1 KR TD
Chris Conley - Pro Bowl, AFC WR of the year 1,287 rec yards, 17 TD
Aerion Meeks - Pro Bowl, AFC DL of the year 21.5 sacks, 58 tackles, 9 TFL, 2 FR, 2 safeties, 1 TD

Awesome thing they added to the game this year: if your player wins a POTY award, his development trait goes up. So Chase went from slow to normal and Agholor from normal to quick. They'll earn more XP points for future games.

Pro Bowlers: All of the above +

LT Eric Fisher (3 sacks allowed)
LG Mack Alston (2 sacks allowed)
C Mitch Morse (4 sacks allowed)
RG La'el Collins (3 sacks allowed)
RT Mitch Schwartz (4 sacks allowed)
DT Chris Jones (10.5 sacks, 40 tackles, 6 TFL, 1 FF)

Let's see how Alex did in Denver this year. He got Kubiak fired.

On to the playoffs! The Chiefs host the Bengals, who defeated them 41-34 in Cincinnati earlier this year. TIME FOR REVENGE!

He wasn't the starter most of the year. Peterson was.

About the last 5-6 games when it became obvious he should be the starter that changed.

My backfield is absolutely lethal.

There's always going to be some cheese and shit when you play online. It sucks when you're on the receiving end of some bullshit but it's kinda realistic honestly. Players, even All-Pros, get beat sometimes..

Have you had issues online with the computer making you challenge random ass plays? It's happened to me like 3-4 times now. Yesterday I played a game and it made me challenge a 40 yard gain while I was on offenss. Thankfully it's really only ****ed me out of a few timeouts I never ended up needing, but the time it does that in a tight game I'll be ****ing pissed.

THE PLAYOFFS!

The game started predictably for the Chiefs. After a huge 56-yard pass to Travis Kelce, Robby Chase went for a touchdown. Sling it, baby!

Cincy then mounted a drive and drew close to KC's goal line. It was there that Andy Dalton does what he does best.

Payback's a bitch, ginger! The No. 1 defense was in gear now. Emboldened by the stop, KC's offense responded with a drive and Bobbo once again launched a downfield pass.

7-0 Chiefs! Kansas City's defense held again and the Chiefs put together a drive. Unfortunately, Travis Kelce dropped a TD, and the lead was just 10-0 at halftime.

Adrian Peterson extended the Chiefs lead in the third quarter, as the offensive line opened a gaping chasm at the goal line.

The 17-3 lead would prove to be insurmountable. The Chiefs throttled Cincy's offense all afternoon, holding the No. 1 passing offense to just 86 net yards. Dalton completed only 11 of 25 passes, and KC held the ball for 28:34 compared to 11:26 for the visitors.

Justin Houston effectively ended the game midway through the fourth.

Standouts:

M. Agholor - 26 carries, 106 yards
R. Chase - 17-20, 257 yards, 1 TD 1 INT

Kansas City hosts the AFC Championship against Drew Brees and the Ravens. A rematch of KC's narrow OT victory in Baltimore earlier this season.

THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ravens opened the game by ramming the ball right down Kansas City's throat. A missed tackle at the goal line by "Jigga" Watts O'Neill allowed Dion Lewis to score.

The Chiefs struck right back though, taking advantage of Baltimore's slow corner. Robbo Chase hit Hillman deep.

A defensive stalemate ensued. The Chiefs got a huge sack on Brees to knock Baltimore out of FG range.

The Ravens then shocked the crowd by going for a 67-yard field goal.

That massive kick gave Baltimore a 10-7 lead at halftime. But it would not last, as Bobbo the Bomber once again took advantage of the Ravens' terrible corners. This time he found Conley.

The Ravens immediately struck back, as the seemingly unstoppable Lewis ripped off a long TD run.

The Chiefs answered again with another drive. On third and 1, they called a play action pass. The result...

Touchdown! The Chiefs stopped Baltimore on the next drive thanks to a 46 defensive adjustment to shut down the run. Martinez Agholor made the score 28-17 with a short run, and the Ravens were in desperation mode.

Baltimore kicked a field goal, and had one last chance to tie the game. Brees drove them inside the 20, and on third and 2, fired a pass for the end zone.

Huzzah! Micah Hyde's game-ending INT puts the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Replays, however, showed a different story. The real hero: KEIVARAE RUSSELL.

Not only did the former Bengal tip the pass, he also batted it a SECOND TIME right to Hyde for the interception. Redemption!

The Chiefs face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LIII.

I got a question for you guys

I have a career mode as a MLB and I will blitz every few plays or so..well if I get a clear path to the QB I will get to where a blocker should engage me and my guy will just stop in his tracks..he will go from running to standing in his pre snap stance

Any of you guys having this issue

Nope I've never had a problem with that. I did just play the Redskins and Khalil Mack had Cousins in the backfield one on one 3 different plays for a sack and cousins shrugged him off every single time. Quite hilarious.

THE SUPER BOWL

The game could not have started better for the Chiefs. Bobbo Chase took KC right down the field and, in the red zone, flipped a short pass to Martinez Agholor.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, their vaunted red zone defense could not stop Seattle on the ensuing possession. First, Marcus Peters committed pass interference on third and goal.

Given new life with the penalty, Seattle took advantage. The pass coverage was perfect, but Russell Wilson made a play with his legs.

Seattle went ahead with a field goal, but the Chiefs answered with a drive of their own. Deep in Seattle territory, KC handed the ball to Agholor again.

Ouch! The vicious hit from Kam Chancellor resulted in a turnover and knocked Agholor from the game with an injury. He would not play again.

The Seahawks were aggressive after the fumble, and went for a TD with 1 second left before halftime.

Now down 17-7, the Chiefs desperately needed a stop. Unfortunately, Thomas Rawls put Seattle up 24-7 with a long TD run.

The Chiefs were desperate now and forced to abandon the run. Would Bobbo Chase wilt under the pressure?

TOUCHDOWN CHIEFS! Kansas City was back in it. After a field goal made it 27-14, Chase needed another TD drive. This time he looked to go deep.

GAME ON! The Chiefs just needed one more stop to take control of the game. They loaded the box to stop Rawls and...

And that run and ensuing TD proved to be too much for Chase to overcome. Though he fought valiantly, throwing for 316 yards and 4 TD, it was not enough. Seattle wins the Super Bowl, 43-28, and the Chiefs will look to 2019. Thomas Rawls ran for 200 yards, but Russell Wilson was named MVP with 3 TD passes and one TD run.

Get ****ed.
