Chiefs MVB of 2005

I don't think we ever really discussed this, but who was the Chiefs' Most Valuable Backup of 2005?

By "backup", we are talking about players who, injuries aside, are not listed as first-stringers on the offense or defense, and are not specialists such as kickers, punters, or kick returners.

I also excluded LJ, because while he was a backup for part of the season, he is now a starter.

Poll coming off the bench.

seriously now, that would have to be Jason Dunn. He's the most underrated player on the team

I think the legitimate candidates are Dunn and Sapp, and maybe Jimmy Wilkerson and Dwayne Washington.

Gotta go with Dunn, though. The game-winning block in Oakland is a perfect case study of his value.

Jason Dunn is a beast. Our running game wouldn't be what it is without him.

Dewayne Washington was a nice suprise, as well.

And good to see that jspchief got his vote for Kris Wilson in early.

Dunn by a long shot. Probably Sapp after him and then maybe Horn (didn't he have a decent game or two? Or am I mis-remembering?)

Maybe it's just me, but I don't view Dunn as a backup. More of a situational starter, really.

I totally agree with that, Mr. Pittsie. It's really unfair to describe him as a "backup".

Considering he started the season as a backup:

Larry Johnson.

Otherwise, Jason Dunn.
