I was able to sneak a peek around the corner as I left, and the window that was shot out is directly across from our elevators. I want to see the path of the bullets when they let us back in, because it looks like if DaFace or I or any of our other employees had been waiting for the elevator at that moment we would've been right in the path.

DENVER - A man was killed on Thursday afternoon after gunfire erupted inside a restaurant near the 16th Street Mall.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. at the Chopstick and Sushi Restaurant near 16th and Welton Streets in Downtown Denver, according to Denver Police.

Denver Police says when officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Denver Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. His name was not immediately released.

Police say they are not searching for a suspect and are talking to several people at the police station.

Police say there was some sort of altercation in the restaurant and one of the people pulled a gun and opened fire.

Police say the victim was a customer and was not a restaurant employee.

Police say at this time there is nothing to indicate that it was a robbery attempt.

Welton was closed from 16th to 17th as police investigated. It had reopened by 6 p.m.
