Woods is pretty cheap.

I'd say the only locks to be cut on this list are Morton, Holliday, McNugget and Shawn Barber.

Don't Woods and Wesley both have a 2nd tier bonus due to them soon?

As much as I like Maz, there is no way they are going to pay him anything close to a million. Even if he is ready, which is still a question.

Holliday I think is due a bonus in the offseason also, so in addition to his salary he's gone.

Some more information

The six-year deal for Woods, who had made it clear his preference was to return to the Chiefs, is worth more than $3 million annually. The combined value of the initial signing bonus and a second-tier option bonus is $5 million, the same as Wesley's contract
=========
Coming off what was arguably the best season of his four-year career, Wesley received a signing bonus of $4 million and will earn a second-tier option bonus of $1 million in the spring of 2005. His base salaries are $535,000 (for 2004), $865,000 (2005), $2.5 million (2006), $2.7 million (2007), $2.8 million (2008) and $3.3 million (2009).

In addition, there are annual roster bonuses of $300,000 in each year of the contract and yearly workout bonuses of $100,000 each for 2005 through 2009.
=========
Browning, 30, started all 16 games in 2003 and finished with 55 tackles, one-half sack and two pass deflections. A third-round pick in the 1996 draft, the eight-year veteran has appeared in 89 games and started 76 of them. His career totals include 233 tackles, 21 sacks, one interception and seven pass deflections.
The former West Virginia star signed a contract that included a $3 million bonus and base salaries of $660,000 (2004), $1.2 million (2005), $1.5 million (2006), $2 million (2007) and $2.5 million (2008). There are annual workout bonuses of $50,000 each, a roster bonus of $200,000 for 2004 and roster bonuses of $250,000 each for 2005-2008.
=========
Morton's original deal was for 25 million over 7 years with a 5.5 mil bonus.
By my reconing, he has four years left so the cap hit would be around 3 million
=========
LB Shawn Barber to a reported seven-year, $30 million contract Monday.
$5.5 million signing bonus, for example, will be spread over the seven-year life of the contract. This was in 2003 so there are 5 years left on this contract, the cap hit would be around 4 million.
=========
McCleon signed a five-year contract worth $11.155 million. It includes a $2 million signing bonus and also a $500,000 option bonus due next spring

Yep, We need a list of bonus and salary due. what's left for the Chiefs to eat if they cut or release a player. Does a site exsist that shows salary/bonus together?

Morton's contract is interesting -- by my figures he has a cap hit of around 3 million dollars if he is released, but he has a salary of 3 million. So if released the Chiefs have 3 million more cash, but 3 million tied up in dead money, in essence a zero cap effect especially if a player under contract takes his place.

McCleon has a salary cap hit of 800k (2 years of signing bonus left) and a salary of 1.5 million for next year. The Chiefs would have a cash flow increase of 700k (if released), but would have 800k dead money.

When searching for a listing of Ryan Sims' signing bonus, I found this little nugget from 2002 on NonstopSports.com...

IT'S ABOUT ME

That's what Packers defensive end Vonnie Holliday sounds like when he's complaining about his contract.

Entering the final year of his contract, Holliday had hoped to have a new deal before the start of the season. It still could happen, but the two sides are apparently far apart regarding his value, and that rankles Holliday.

"I think I'm in the top five," Holliday said, comparing himself to NFL defensive ends. "I can't tell you what it's worth. I guess we'll find out. Sky's the limit, baby. (But) I don't think (Tennessee's Jevon) Kearse does what I do. Does (pass rushing) make our defense work? Vonnie Holliday, as a power end in the Green Bay Packer defense, makes this defense work. You have to stop the run first, then play the pass. Multi-faceted. Can play up and down the line.

"Some guys rip up the field every play. I could do that and get 12 sacks. I'm a disciplined player playing within the scheme of the defense and having success."

Holliday, though, showed his me-first attitude when the contract that Steelers defensive end Aaron Smith was mentioned. Smith signed this year for $25 million over five years with a $5.5 million signing bonus. He's unheralded, because he's an end in a 3-4 defense, where his role is not unlike that of Holliday.

"I don't even know who that guy is," Holliday said.
