Does anyone here really think the new GM will pass on a QB ? He's not gonna piss off the fan base that early.

Anybody who says that we should get another 5 tech who cannot rush the passer and pass up on a QB should be fired immediately.

Who's the valuable can't miss player we need to consider drafting instead of a QB?

No Von Millers. No elite CBs. Even the LTs ****ing suck if we wanted to go full true fan. No Calvin Johnsons or AJ Greens. No Trent Richardsons.

There's a pretty good DT, but I've been told even by the draft value tards that Star is not an option.

So what? What is it? What do we ****ing do if we don't draft a QB?

And if people say "trade down" I will burn a humane society to the ground. Have you not learned anything from the 2009 draft that if YOU don't want any of the players available at the top, then odds are nobody else does either?

****.

Jarvis Jones is a BAMF and Luke Joekel is one of the better LT's to come out in the last few year.

Having said that, I want a QB at 1 and nothing else. But those guys listed above are arguably the top talent in the class overall.

Yeah, I think JJ might be a little better prospect coming out the Aldon Smith who isn't doing too badly. There is some talent there, but those guys are for teams that don't have QB needs like we do.

Chiefs fans say we should not reach on a QB that is not the best overall prospect but I'd take a Flacco, Freeman, Cutler prospect anyday over whatever defensive or offensive player in this draft.

Look at Big Ben, he probably wasn't a top 3 overall prospect in the 2004 draft but the guy fulfilled his potential and he's way more valuable than any position player drafted before him.

You take Geno Smith, if he fulfills his potential, he might make the Chiefs a perennial contender. If he fails, the team is probably not much worse if at all than if we had picked Lotulelei or whomever, and we just try again with another QB prospect with potential.

I'm amazed at how many people still don't see how much impact the QB has in today's game and also how much finding a future elite QB in round 2 and beyond is not only quite rare but also lucky.

I'd rather have Kalil or even Tyron Smith than Joeckel.

And Jarvis Jones is a one-trick guy. His run defense is terrible. Not saying a pass rusher has to be COMPLETELY well-rounded, but his problem is that he's a sore liability. Teams that run at him WILL find success.

If Geno Smith shouldn't be drafted because he's not Andrew Luck, then Jarvis Jones is a far worse case of not being Von Miller.

I think in the NFL today, just having a dominant pass rusher is key since stopping the pass is so important.

IMO Jarvis Jones is a guy who can get 15 sacks consistently. I know I'd take that if I was a team like the Jags.

Why do you guys read these?

There have been 3 non-QBs picked #1 in the past 14 years. All 3 could easily be seen as mistakes.

Jake Long over Matt Ryan
Mario Williams over Young/Cutler
Courtney Brown over... well no one, really. Chad Pennington was the only QB taken in the first 2 rounds. Although there was a Brady hiding in the 6th.

For a team that's decent everywhere with one ridiculous gaping hole at one position in the roster, I have to believe even Pioli will take a QB if KC is picking at #1.

so apparently the world will end if we draft a QB at #1 even though McYamsucker says he is only #9?

we've waited 30 years for a QB and the only thing people care about is whether or not we draft for 'value'...because why? you care about clark's money more than a QB?

you care about mythical things - 'value' - more than a qb?

what is this sickness?

How on earth have we picked DL twice in the top 5 and once at 11 since 08 and we still need d linemen? Not to mention we run a 3-4 which only plays three linemen at a time
