I would have traded the entire draft for Herschel Walker.

I think it's clear now that getting Alex Smith was probably wise. Joeckel or Fisher were probably the right pick at #1, and I'm not docking the Chiefs for being unable to trade down from a very undesireable 1.1 pick.
Being unable to trade off Albert, however, sours things as it left the Chiefs totally bankrupt in the second round. That hurts. And spending all your midround picks on role players similarly weakens this team at its most important positions. I would have wanted to see more investments at DL, passrusher, QB, or WR. |

See, this is why we suck. This organization is not willing to ride it out with a young fresh QB with potential for a year or two and let him develop. We keep bringing in band-aid qb's, Green, Cassel, Smith, bunch of ****ing others, and go with them. Zero playoffs wins in last couple decades going with this methodology. Alex Smith = Great Choice to you? Welcome to mediocrity son, enjoy 7-9... |

Yeah because someone in this draft is going to lead this franchise. Idiots.

Imagine if the Chiefs had:
1. Traded down to the teens or 20s. 2. Picked Geno Smith. 3. Used their 2nd round pick gained from trading down to pick someone, anyone, out of the myriad of talented players that went in 2nd. Instead we got an OT. Yay!
