Chiefs Juggle Practice Squad Roster

Two days after cutting rookie safety Bradley McDougald, the Kansas City Chiefs brought him back as a member of the practice squad.

McDougald signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas and made the initial 53-man roster. However, he was cut when Kansas City made an NFL-high seven waiver claims. McDougald quickly found his way back to Kansas City once the team put fifth-round pick Sanders Commings on injured reserve.

The team released McDougald again this week so they could sign Kevin Brock, a necessity given the injuries to the top two tight ends.

To make room for the safety on the practice squad, the Chiefs cut his teammate at Kansas, FB Toben Opurum. This exact move could be reversed next week if the team gets good news on the health of either Anthony Fasano or Travis Kelce, as it’s doubtful they will continue to carry four tight ends.

Given the state of the TE's I never thought Brock should have been cut to begin with.
