Laptop video capturing solutions

I'm trying to use my laptop for my video work this year, as it'll be much easier obviously than setting up a PC next to the Tivo. To that end I need a product with some sort of video and audio in.

Last year I captured HDTV at 720x480 via the S-video out port on my Tivo. I'm open to capturing at 1280x720 this year, but don't want to spend too much on the product. If there's a cheaper option out there that caps at 720x480 I'd rather go with that.

Here's a couple of products I found that I think might suit my needs, but not sure about the quality. I have my own capping software I would prefer to use, so that's pretty important.

Any suggestions/reviews?

What I'd eventually like to do is record every Chiefs game in hi def with H.264, AND record the radio broadcast with Mitch and Len and make DVDs (dual layer to keep as much quality as possible). Use the radio feed as an alternate audio track so you could listen to either. But I just never figured out how to do all the legwork.
