Jags release S Barry Church
@FieldYates: The Jaguars have released veteran S Barry Church. The former big free agent signing was a healthy scratch last week.
@AlbertBreer: Really interesting. He'll go to waivers, where another team can have him for the rest of the year for $529K. And they'd have the option to keep him at $6.25M in 2019 and $6.75M in 2020. https://twitter.com/phillip_heilman/...72876631429120 Can he help? |

They could have got 4 starters with that kind of money spent on those two. |

The only reason Parker is here is because Berry had a set back in training camp. Not finding to many starting Safeties that late in season. Daniel got hurt too

To be fair I dont think they expected the Berry debacle.Had he been healthy its a whole different story and frankly paying Berry $13MM per the other guys will have to be cheaper. Thats one reason they cut Parker originally.

Honestly, there's no way in hell he's worse than Parker and Sorensen, It CANNOT be possible. So I hope Veach takes a very close look at this because a Berry/Church tandem just might give this defense some juice in the playoffs. Church was part of that great Jaggs defense last year. Even if his performance has slipped a little, I can't see how he wouldn't be better than the two I mentioned above.

Veach should literally be spamming his phone right now
Church has gotta be, what, 5x better than Parker? 10x?

Face facts Lucas is better then Parker and he can’t see the field. No way they’re gonna bring Barry in

Parker was claimed off the scrap heap and Sorenson should have been cut last June. They haven’t developed Murray into anything. A proven commodity with some savvy and grit becomes available this late and they sit on their hands. **** this shit. If we don’t hear of the Chiefs having pursued Church at all, then they deserve every bit of defensive futility coming their way. |

At the very least he's a better run defender than Parker, that's literally his specialty. Dunno why we don't bring him in
