The Spice Mines of Kessel were known as a Galactic Republic prison and later as the Galactic Empire's slave camp.

It was filled with dangerous energy spiders that constantly attacked the workers who mined the precious spice. It was known as a form of torture, as the work was so difficult and the conditions so poor.

The mines were extremely cold, so much so that thermal suits had to be worn to keep the workers alive. Because of the weak atmosphere, essential gases such as oxygen were constantly escaping. Oxygen generators were stationed around the planet.

The Empire threatened beings who would not cooperate that they would be sentenced to work in the mines if they continued to ignore them.

I've never seen a single energy spider in the DC forum.

About even, with a slight edge to Palpatine. Windu has a weird ability (shatter point) which makes him a pretty nasty opponent for anyone.

Do these spiders attempt to drain the life from their victims? I'd say there are plently of candidates in DC.

I saw some life-draining spiders several times in college. Damnedest thing.

It very much centered around the MAW and Kessel plays a role.

Not a chance. Sidious was far and away the best duelist in the galaxy. The movie just can't depict it properly with an aged Ian McDiarmid. Though perhaps not canon(or maybe it is, I don't ****ing know), his duel against Maul and Oppress pretty much end the debate:

Why did Palpatine even need Anakin then? Anakin got his ass whooped by Obi-Wan and Vader got pretty much stalemated by Luke ( right? )

Skywalker was conceived of the force as a balance against the manipulations of Darth Plagueis. He was basically an experiment that backfired. Sidious saw the opportunity to turn him and have a worthy right-hand man rather than just killing him outright. Sidious' machinations made Skywalker the perfect apprentice for the final stage of The Plan.

Word.

So who was actually more powerful then? It seems to me that Palpatine was the one calling the shots.
