Last minute run on a free agent? - Page 2

Been pondering this for awhile now.

The 18th is the last day for teams to sign RFA's to offer sheets. Not sure but i think the same holds true for franchise and transition Fa's.

I wonder if we make a run for Max Starks to play RT. He has the transition tag like Tait did a few years back. No compensation needed. Just a hefty contract they won't match.

He is coming off his rookie contract and only 26.

Could give us more flexibility at #5 and beyond in the draft.

If we are high on Otah, Starks is in that same mold. Seems like a Gailey type of OL to me.

I would think he would be something worth to check out but, that is me and I do not work for the Chiefs. Who knows what goes through their minds..

Could be the fact he lost his starting job in a contract year, last season when he was on his last year.

They didn't want to pay him Franchise tag money(top 5 OT's) but would do the transition deal and match if they wanted or pay him top 10 money.

Probably a work ethic worry more than anything else.

There is no June cut date anymore. Teams can designate players as June 1st cuts, and release them prior anymore.

I've been advocating for him for a while. He fits what we are looking for and while we do need to build through the draft we have the ability to get a player if we so desire.

They've been brainwashed by 19 years of Carl, Laz.

They think that with a few FA signings, we're right back to 8-8 and MAYBE contending for the last playoff spot.

If we go by that logic, then we're utterly doomed, because Carl's even worse in the draft than he is in free agency.
