White would have been a nice pick if he wouldn't have gotten hurt. Roddy White fell off a cliff and with Julio on the other side, the pick would have helped Matt Ryan a lot. Richard is still a project, but he had 3 sacks and a pick for a bad Cleveland defense. Donovan Smith was drafted 34th overall by the Bucs and has started every game. Holiman was a bit of a reach, but his ball skills are off the charts. He was on TBs roster after being drafted and cut by Pittsburgh. Charles Gaines started 4 games at corner for Cleveland. Pullard started 2 games at MLB for Jacksonville. Dyer and Christy washed out in camp. |

I've got some pretty valuable defensive players in this draft that they could have really used this season. |

So far, it looks like I hit one home run and another solid draft:
Houston Texans 1.016: CB Kevin Johnson - Wake Forest (taken 1.16 by HOU) +0 Houston's nickle CB and heir to Jonathan Joseph, 16 gp/10 gs, 54 tkl, 9pd, 1 int 2.051: ILB Stephone Anthony - Clemson (taken 1.31 by NO) +20 New Orlean's starting ILB, 16 gp/16 gs, 112 tkl, 1 sk, 5 pd, 1 int, 2ff 3.082: OLB Lorenzo Mauldin - Louisville (taken 3.82 by NYJ) +0 New York's situational pass rusher at OLB, 15 gp/0 gs, 17 tkl, 4 sk, 1ff 4.116: WR Christian Conley - Georgia (taken 3.76 by KC) +40 Kansas City's situational WR, 16 gp/5 gs, 17 rec, 199 yds, 1 td, 4 tkl 5.152: RB Javorius Allen - Southern California (taken 4.125 by BAL) +27 Baltimore's reserve RB turned starter, 16 gp/6 gs, 137 car, 514 yds, 1 td, 45 rec, 353 yds, 2 td, 2fum/2lost 5.175: SS Clayton Geathers - Central Florida (taken 4.109 by IND) +66 Indianpolis' reserve S, 15 gp/2 gs, 34 tkl, 1 pd 6.195: OC Andy Gallik - Boston College (taken 6.208 by TEN) -13 Tennessee's reserve C turned starter, 12gp/8gs 6.211: TE Rory "Busta" Anderson - South Carolina (taken 7.254 by SF) -43 San Francisco's reserve TE, 0 gp/0 gs 6.216: WR Tyrell Williams - Western Oregon (UDFA by SD) -40 San Diego's reserve WR, 7 gp/0 gs, 2 rec, 90 yds, 1 td 7.235: ILB Jordan Hicks - Texas - (taken 3.84 by PHI) +151 Philadelphia's reserve ILB turned starter turned IR, 8 gp/5 gs, 50 tkl, 1 sk, 3 pd, 2 int, 1 td, 1 ff It's probably a good thing Houston didn't do as well in the draft as I did for them. Looking at everything right now, there are 3-5 starters in this group (Johnson, Anthony, Allen, Gallik, and Hicks) and a few pretty decent role players (Mauldin, Conley, Geathers). New England Patriots 1.032: DT Eddie Goldman - Florida State (taken 2.39 by CHI) -7 Chicago's reserve NT turned starter, 15 gp/12 gs, 22 tkl, 4.5 sk 2.064: RB Ameer Abdullah - Nebraska (taken 2.54 by DET) +10 Detroit's situational/committee starter RB, 16 gp/9 gs, 143 car, 597 yds, 2 td, 25 rec, 183 yds, 1 td, 5 fum/2 lost 3.096: CB Josh Shaw - Southern California (taken 4.120 by CIN) -24 Cincinnati's reserve CB, 15 gp/1 gs, 23 tkl, 1 pd 3.097: WR Tre McBride - William & Mary (taken 7.245 by TEN) -148 Tennessee's reserve WR, 7 gp/0 gs, 2 rec, 8 yds, 1 td 4.101: OT Ty Sambrailo - Colorado State (taken 2.59 by DEN) +42 Denver's starting LT turned IR, 3 gp/3 gs 4.131: WR Kenny Bell - Nebraska (taken 5.162 by TB) - 31 Tampa Bay's reserve WR out on IR in preseason, 0 gp/0 gs 6.178: CB Darryl Roberts - Marshall (taken 7.247 by NE) -69 New England's reserve CB out on IR in preseason, 0 gp/0 gs 7.219: ILB Kevin Snyder - Rutgers (UDFA by DET) -37 San Francisco's reserve ILB out on IR by Detroit in preseason, waived, signed by SF to PS, 0 gp/0 gs 7.253: DE Alec May - Georgetown (No Selection/No UDFA) -3 Received tryout (rookie minicamp) with Detroit, not signed. It's really too early to tell, but it looks like I got 3 starters (Goldman, Sambrailo, and Abdullah) and a decent role player (Shaw). The rest will sort itself out, but Roberts and Bell both looked solid before their pre-season injuries and could be at least solid role players. |
