Misc I'm such a bad "mom" - Page 3

I've had Fat Cat for 2 1/2 years. I believe she's 8 or 9 years old. I was petting her the other day when I decided to check out her teeth. One of her fangs was missing. She's had some plaque buildup, but the vet didn't seem to be concerned with it when I took her last year. Anyway, I looked it up online, and I found that losing fangs isn't a big deal, as long as it's not due to gum disease. I noticed a lot of people talking about brushing their cat's teeth, so I looked that up as well. There are even instructional videos. I wasn't aware I was supposed to brush her teeth. It's time for her check-up, so I'm going to make sure I talk to the vet about it. Still, I feel bad that I haven't been properly caring for her.

ya know i dont really mind cats. Id like to have a barn cat for the kids but i trained my dog to purge anything off the farm w/ feathers,fur, or flesh that doesnt belong because of my fowl. Next bulldog i get im gonna raise it with a cat and see what happens.

It's a good thing she doesn't care for wet food then. The only soft food she eats is whenever I open a can of tuna. I'll leave just a little in the can and set it on the floor.

Prey drive. Pretty good, I guess. She loves to attack my feet, and I have a toy that she does that with. She loses interest after awhile though.

Yeah, but I like my dog, although he wasn't $5,000.00 However, I can indeed laugh, for two reasons:

1) She wanted $800 for a procedure that would remove the cat's teeth. And not paying for the procedure would have the same result for free.

2) She was completely wrong (either intentionally or not) with her original diagnosis. The cat's teeth not not rot and fall out.

ive suggested springpoles for conditioning on here for years. works for cats the same way as dogs. 5 minutes a day is all it takes. You can make one from a stick,string and feather. Squirell tails work best imo.

The trick is NOT letting them catch the bait.

im giving you good advice for free luv.

keep the stick,cut the elastic string,attacha feather. dont let the cat get the 'prey' until the end.

Start slow. 1-2 minutes work your way up to five.

Excercise will not only strengthen the bond but help in every phase of you cats well being. cardio,muscles,joints,renal,reflex, hunt instinct, gastro, ect.
You need to think over all wellness. Excercise is a HUGE part.
