My votes on a holiday weekend:
#1 - Sixth Sense. (***Sniff***) "Good night, Malcolm", she says. And her face is all angelic. (***Sniff***) #2 - Sling Blade. I like that he asks for the police number. #3 - The Terminator. It's a fine scene, but it's not Round 3 material. Mostly just shooting and chasing.

TOUGH Heat. Slingblade gets the vote, but it could have easily gone to Sixth Sense and I suspect that Terminator is better than 80% of the scenes remaining.

I'm looking through the seedings, and Round 2 is exponentially tougher than Round 1. I expect a lot of close votes. I don't even want to imagine Round 3.

Sling Blade and Sixth Sense both outstanding, but Sling Blade is a bit better.

Yeah, heres where I really start voting scenes and not just movies, talk about 3 of my all time favorites.
But Sixth Sense gets my vote here, I wandered around for two days after that "am I dead, man?". Sling Blades such a great story though, about people... no 'splosions, no spaceships or monsters, no badass soldiers... just average people in a small town. |

To this day I still hate the St. Louis Post-Dispatch because they wrote an article saying that they would pre-warn you to stop reading before they got to the spoiler of Sixth Sense.
I stopped reading in time, but the dumb copy editor bolded the spoiler and nothing else in a later part of the paper. There was almost no way one could help but see what one didn't want to know. I was David Banner angry... One of the all-time fails of a newspaper, imo. |
