It's partly because of anomalies like Embiid and Simmons. They are freakish talents (especially Embiid) who were good in the NBA as soon as they stepped foot on the court. Irving shot 4 for 16 in this game and is having basically the same season he always did with the Cavs (if not worse). If I didn't consider him elite before, not sure why my opinion would have changed.

I'll give you that you can't say he is guaranteed to be a bust but to say he still projects to be a good player in this league is a stretch. What has he done to make you think that?

He sucks right now. The only thing he has going for him is his age and court vision but in today's NBA he's going to have to be able to shoot. He can't get by just passing. He better develop a shot quickly otherwise he won't get much playing time and he'll be a backup for his career.

Irving clearly was not carried by LeBron. It's painfully obvious if you look at the current state of the Celtics and Cavs.

GS is not the greatest team of all-time. They are up there but Birds Celtics, Magics Lakers, Shaq/Kobe Lakers, Jordans Bulls, Twin-Tower Spurs, all those teams you could make an argument are just as good IMO.
