Greetings! I don't know about the rest of you, but I am still fired up about the Chiefs knocking off the Donks in their own house. I think the good times are going to continue to roll and the boys in red are going to even the score with the chickens on MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!

I think our D has played very well lately. Kitna is one of the most sacked QB's in the league and I think the resurgence of our D-line will give Kitty Kat fits. That said, Seattle does have good defensive personnel up front. I think their shot is to get pressure in Grbac's face, which is entirely possible with their studs up front.

All things considered I think we pull this one out to make it 4 out of 5 close MNF games this season.

Joe Seahawk: You may be right about the statement about special teams figuring into this game. I saw on NFL tonight where Seattle cut Heppner and signed some guy I can't remember who was in Cowboys camp this summer. What happened to the kid? You were so high on him in the preseason.<P>

Djay,
Heppner was very good in training camp and pre-season, hell, he was booting 60 yard field goals in warmups in San Diego....But, I guess he cant deal with the pressure of a gametime situation..He has missed three field goals so far.
The new guy will be O.K. hopefully but we do have kicker troubles...Funny thing is Heppner is just about as good as Janikowski so far this year...LOL (Heppner was an undrafted FA)

hawaiinboy,

Gotta love your strategic prediction about this Monday's game. We all know you want the Hawks to bump us down to 2-3 given our next game is against your boys in Arrowhead.

You are probably counting the SF game in your pocket to go 4-1 and thus will not get too worked up over losing to the Chiefs as your Raiders would maintain the lead in the AFC West.

Problem is we know the Chiefs will beat the Hawks and then your boys on 10/15 to go 4-0 in the AFC West and be tied 4-2 with the Raiders.....

....provided they don't "Fade" against the 49ers.

Last time I brought out the Bikini girls we scored six TD's. I will admit, Seattle matches up well with us. If they can't match the Chiefs intensity at Arrowhead and being on MNF, I predict five TD's this time.

Seattle demonstrated last year that they had the superior coach. Gun seems to have found his way this year. He stumbled a bit vs. INdy, nearly stole one in OT in Tennessee, blew out the Bolts withn an NFL 2000 high 42 points, and beat the high-powered Donx in Mile High. I see this as Gunther's revenge. Sorry Holmy, Gun gets the game ball, 27-21. Stoyo actually hits 2 FGs.

Maybe it’s just The Engineer talking, but I don’t feel nearly as confident against the ‘Hawks as many of you.

Yes, Seattle is rebuilding, but so are we.

Seattle spanked us twice last year. Both times, they seriously out-coached us. We failed to stop Watters on the run or the pass. Kitna had a field day against our D. And our Offense consistently failed to move the ball when it absolutely had to do so.

Now, on the plus side: our run D is improved and we are getting pressure from our front four. In addition, we have actually shown signs of a passing game, although it was consistent only against the worst team in the AFC West.

On the minus side: our rushing attack is practically non-existent. This could be simply a result of stacked lines, but it should be a source of serious concern for Chiefs fans. We cannot continue to be “Air Grbac.” When teams know Grbac is going to pass, bad things tend to happen. We will be facing a better secondary Monday night and we must depend on Grbac to thread that needle. That does not give me a warm fuzzy.

So, am I just a worry-wart, or are some of us taking Seattle a bit too lightly?

xoxo~
